Bad rail posture

I’ve been progressing in the park lately but something has been keeping me from unlocking my (close to full) potential in therms of technique.

ive noticed (by films and by comments) that when I initiate onto a rail, that I kinda land squatting down ( ass low) instead of leg straight as high.

any tips on fixing this?


also I find that my stance is very aggressive any ways on how to loosen that aggressiveness?

The key to getting comfortable on rails is doing a lot of rails. More experience will always make you better.

Tbh if you can grease rails consistently and land without pizzaing or eating it I wouldn't listen to anyone about it. It took me at least 3-4 years of hitting rails to make it look "effortless"

I think that’s a different issue because that looks like very normal rail posture lol, ur not supposed to stand perfectly straight

yeah I’m in my second year. Just sucks cause I have like a 25% chance of doing a nuts slide

also I’ve always found that my stance was prety backseat instead of up right

A point a lot of members make on here too is that baggy clothes make a huge difference. You can't see the micromovements and corrections ppl make on rails when you wear baggy stuff, so that helps too.

Not really, look at siver, probably one of the best rail skiers rn https://www.instagram.com/tv/CX_-OtvI3zp/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Knees bent, leaning forward or backward depending on which way he’s sliding off the rail in order to stay locked on. U look fine the way ur standing on rails

If you put a pillow under your lower back or knees at night, your posture might get better. You should also make sure to stand up from time to time if you sit a lot each day

Lean whichever way you need to in order to stay on the rail. Sometimes you will need to lean back, sometimes forwards, it depends

Standing up a bit straighter is better for swaps and faster spins out. Your photos look fine, but the one just posted is hunched too far forward.
