Remounted skis in same holes

so technically an update from my last thread about how the mounts on my buttersticks were off. Went in to check if they were off and the tech unmounted the the one ski I was worried about and put the jig over the ski. Holes lined up fine so probably was just an optical illusion ig. anyway tech remounted the ski by just redrilling back into the same hole. Is this an issue or is it fine? Havent had a day on these ski yet. Wondering if them just redrilling it without doing anything is a problem or not.

Yea u should be good. That happens with some top sheets. They’re not always glued on right

threading the screws back into existing holes isnt "redrilling", thats just putting the screws back in lol

The glue is used to seal the core not stick the top sheets back together, or to hold the screw in. Just to protect it from water.


if they carefully threaded it back into the same threads by hand then it will be fine. If they just smashed it back in with a drill, chances are they would have damaged the threads and increased the likely hood of pull out as there wasn’t solid wood to catch on.

To test, use a screw driver and see if you can make the screws spin. You should be able to put a fair bit of force into it. Use one hand, not your entire body weight .

yea they just put glue and “drilled” it right back in. i’ll test that tomorrow. should i be unscrewing or screwing more when testing.

dont fuckin touch them, they're fine. if they have glue they're sealed and not going to rot or pull. i guarantee u dont have the right screw driver and u will strip the screw heads and make this whole situation worse

Dont touch your screws they are fine. If you try turning them now you will just break the seal on the glue and let water into the holes. Just go enjoy your new skis

Yea I know I just meant the optical illusion happens sorta often bcs topsheets aren’t always placed exactly symmetrical on top of the ski.
