I know i’m probably nowhere near getting any type of sponsor, but I just want to know what a good trick that might be sponsor worthy even a really really minor sponsor.
Probably make like a youtube video called Sponsor me: *whatever ur name is* post it on reddit and stuff industry always peeping r/skiing for the next big thing.

don't ski to get sponsored, that will just ruin skiing for you. keep skiing, do your own thing and eventually a brand will be interested in giving you stuff.
Go watch some super unknown entries, if u can’t hang with them, then ur not getting sponsored by anyone besides homemade pants brands. Unless ur a chick, then the criteria is much different.
Doing really unique tricks that no one else would think to do is certainly helpful. The biggest thing is being able to bring something to a brand that no one else can.

it depends on a lot of things like how it looks, but I'd presume the most he gets is free clothing to rep a brand at most. then he's gonna have to post a lot and be known on social media
If u have a high following on social media you could probably be a brand ambassador. You don’t get money but you get free stuff. Other than that you need to have a 4p6 and dub 7s. (Not really but probably same level of difficulty.)

Ask yourself, why should a ski company invest their resources into you ? Answer that question for yourself and you'll find out.
Hint: it's definitely not because of tricks, it's bigger and more influential than that.
Was gonna say this, I know like 3 dudes from my home mountain who have very limited tricks, not a huge social media presence, but they contribute a lot to the local scene and are great people to be around. Some ski companies want you to have quads and 15k followers on insta, others just want you to be an honest representative of the companies beliefs / values or whatever.
Think of sponsorship from the company's perspective: they are purchasing a co-opt of your image and influence. Are you seen frequently at competitions? Online following? Are you a coach, instructor, guide, or patroller? Who is seeing you ski, and how does your use of X company's gear effect public opinion of that company?

The most entry level sponsor ship there is like lowest of the low. Bare minimum
Don't pursue sponsors. Become a filmer or literally anything that pays better. Majority of pro skiers don't make shit except for the heavy hitters like Harlaut, Candide, ect.
The tricks dont really matter you need to reach out to them and be known. I used to have a wall of rejection that I took pride in. It had every rejection letter that was sent back to me. Probably at least 15 of them. I would eventually be sponsored by Salomon, Volkl, Dynastar for skis at different times I just kept working at it. If you join a team your coaches will be of great help to you. They will know a lot of the reps. If you dont have a coach, gets to know some of the local brand reps because many of them can help you with their allotment.

dude when I was ten I could cork and 1080 and stuff, but you don't see me getting sponsored. I am 12 know and can flat three and shit and still not getting sponsored
This is k2's sponsorship q and a to see if you should be sponsored. This is a good guideline/ line of thought to follow regardless of what brand you are looking at. cheers

I've got more than the basics down and I'm tearing up the local hill! My buddies say I rip and have good style, and I am looking for a free pair of skis and don't have the cash to buy them.
Answer:
Every sponsored athlete needs to start somewhere. You are on the right path but now you need to show us your dedication to the sport as an athlete and your dedication to K2. Get in touch with your local K2 rep and see if you can get involved with the rep at local events and enter some contests. A regional sponsorship probably fits you best but start working on a sponsorship video that showcases all of your talents.
I Should Be Sponsored!
I've got videos, photos, and a resume I've been working on for the past year and feel like my accomplishments are worthy of a spot on the B Team. I've been in contact with the local K2 rep helping push the brand and am sure they have talked with you about me.
Answer:
Chances are if you are in contact with our local reps we have heard about you. Now it is time to send us your video and resume, but there has to be a spot available for you as well.
Personality and a unique personal style are an important part to getting sponsored. You might have the biggest bag of tricks or be the sickest big mountain skier but I want to see a creative approach to skiing and a personality to match.

I am currently sponsored by brand X and looking to be a part of the K2 team.

Send us your resume and explain why you are interested in K2. The K2 team is a family of athletes and we prefer them to grow up through the ranks but we do make exceptions for athletes that fit our image and brand.
OP, you're asking the wrong question here. Companies sponsor athletes because they bring a specific type of attention to the brand that is valuable and probably pretty unique to said brand. Tricks are only a small part of that.
Look at Senior Media Director of GoPro, Abe Kislevits. He can backflip, pencil spin maybe to 7, and possible like front 2. But he's sponsored by Montec because he is a damn wizard with a GoPro and all his content looks sick. Montec is all about flashy media and not so much about technically skilled athletes so he fits their needs really well.
All this to say it really depends on the brand. Different brands have different goals and sponsor different type of athletes to work toward these goals.
