Do you guys ever ski rain coats?

I found my dads old Patagonia rain coat. Honestly would be pretty sick to ski.

With skiing you need something breathable. That's the magic of gore tex, waterproof while staying breathable. I have a vinyl pull over that's dope to ski in, but it becomes a sauna inside of an hour or so. Not sure on the specifics of the patty coat you got, but they do now many breathable water resistant or proof materials that arnt gore tex but are decent alternatives. Just depends when your coat was made and shit

Lack of pit vents and no breathability makes them uncomfortable to ski in for long. Probably fine when it's cold

My go to jacket for snow/rain isn’t breathable at all but it was 40 bucks and it’s mad waterproof and lightweight. I just wear a water resistant layer underneath and that takes care of the moisture buildup.

I’ve skied in rain slickers before, main risk is if you fall you do not slow down AT ALL. That material slides on snow just as well as your skis. Kinda terrifying, especially if you were in some steep terrain
