I was doin some butters the other day and was filming on a tripod and I took the dome piece off and I just cannot find the strength to wear one anymore.

Someone talk some sense into me, I took my helmet off at 14 and hadn’t worn one again until this year (24 now) and it’s bumming me out a lot.

Anything variable terrain, high speed, new in general should be done with MIPS.

Farmville420I mean I would never actually ride backcountry without one or even on piste bowls because you literally never know when there is a rock in a landing hiding somewhere, until you feel it with either your feet or yet body, but that shit is impossible to detect and really sketchy when you find out how shallow it is

My helmet has saved me a few times from other people hitting me in the head with their skis, chairlift bar, tree branches, car doors, and snowballs being thrown from the lift. Admittedly, I have definitely crashed less when not wearing a helmet, but wearing one does not really change a thing about the risks I take. I really don't see why anyone argues against wearing helmets. If you don't want to wear one, don't wear one. But you don't have to argue and try to convince people to stop wearing them.

CoolChillGuy420Ive just heard far too many horror stories of skier vs. tree collisions resulting in literal skulls being crushed, split open and/or smashed in, brain bleeds, and ultimately death from shock and trauma that could've been prevented by a helmet, but you do you. Ive also visited friends in the ICU that had serious non-skiing related head injuries so yeah, ima keep wearing mind.

But yes, helmets aren't going to do much when it comes to spinal chord injuries or C-Spine trauma. Sarah Burkes story namely speaks out to me about what could happen in the event of a neck and head injury so there's unfortunately nothing you can do in some cases. We just play a really dangerous game sometimes.

Jemswell tbf ripping trees or mountain skiing in general without a helmet is pretty stupid but once i’m ripping the park it’s helmets off unless i’m trying something new or doing higher risk tricks

If you look bad with a helmet its because you don’t know how to style one with your kit. Theres kits that look good with a helmet and ones that don’t. EZ Panda for ex always looks dope af with a helmet. Its gotta fit right and go with the kit
