Ski shop fucked up my boot

Took my boots in to get the toes punched on Monday and my left boot came back with a big ahh dent on top of the big toe that wasn’t there before and can’t even get my boot on ☠️ sooo what should I do

How did they just hand over your boots like that with a straight face? You didn't notice until you got home?
It looks like a really heavy cabinet or something fell on top of it.

Clearly you need to go back to the shop. They need to replace your boots. It sounds like you're fairly young so take your dad with you. They owe you new boots. They also owe you any missed days of skiing due to ruining your boots, but they can't make up for that.

No. Just have them heat up the toe and this will completely go away. You could even do it in your own oven if you have no other punches that you are worried about losing.

You should bring it back to the shop. They should do it for free because it’s their mistake. It was the cup on the punch digging in. They can redo the toe punch while they are at it. It will take twenty minutes and they will be responsible for it.

if you have a heat gun, put it at medium heat, hold the gun 6” away and slowly heat the toe. It should go back out by itself.


if you don’t have a heat gun, warm your oven at 160F, take your liner and boot board out, put the shell in the oven on a cookie tray. Check every once in a while but it should take about 5-10 minutes. All your punches will go away though.

how does a shop do custom boot work when you are not there and then send it home with someone else? seems like the bootfitter should be super curious/concerned about how the boot will work out for you. I've always had the boot fitter put the boot on my foot and quiz me about it before sending me out to ski in it
