Lots of different brand and price ranges out there, heard wells lamont used to be the standard but there quality has gone to shit lately. Ive had a $30 pair of gordinis that have been going strong for 2 seasons. What your guy’s opinion on best mitts?
i don’t think there’s a right answer… i rock some women’s dakine gore tex rn with my pass in the hand warmer pocket and the wrist straps. so much convenience right there.
i’ve also had WL and kincos… both were extremely warm and waterproof after snow seal but no straps and a bit bulky.
i don’t doubt hestras are gucci swag but do you really need to spend the money?

Unpopular opinion but I have not been impressed by the warmth of my Hestra Heli gloves. Should have got the mitt, I know. On not so cold days they are nice.
this or kincos plus some sno seal or waterproof spray. you could literally get several pairs for the price of basically any other glove that competes with it
if i'm spending $ on gloves, though, it's hestra. had good experience with middle of the road price/performance of black diamonds
My wells Lamont gloves still look almost brand new after 4 seasons...with a good bit of T-bar and a little bit of rope tow riding in there as well. I swear by them
Hestra and Black Diamond make a solid set of mittens but your going to pay for it. I got a pair of cheap Wells Lamont’s with leashes and they are still going strong after 5 seasons of more than 80 days. Had to re sew the Velcro on one pair but no issues really. A tiny bit bulky but definitely warm.
I wear Dakine Titan Gore-tex, they're a great value when on sale at Evo, Sierra, steep and cheap, etc. and offer a good feature set. I don't hit rope tows or ski very often in super frigid temps.

I’ve had hestras for almost 5 years and they are holding up super well. Pricey but will last a really long time.
+1 for Free the Powder. I have chronically cold hands, and these are the first non-down mittens I've found that can cut it for me in mildly cold temps. (
Absolute warmest I've ever used were Burton AK Oven Mitts. Full down insulation, including over the ends of your fingertips. Rode a morning in Mammoth at -12* F. Hands were shockingly toasty the whole time.

just want to add that ive heard nothing but good/warm things about burton AK oven mitts
if i had cold hands i'd get a nice thin liner glove to be put into a decent mitten. get it big and you can shove a handwarmer in there when the going gets tough. hard to imagine a situation you'd be too cold in with all that
Why are gloves such in the minority here? Maybe it's just me. Never liked mittens as a kid and that stayed with me. But I just always get what ever is on sale and fits my hand at the end of the year.
