Not full blown boots but I had North Face Hedgehog shoes and they were super comfy and grippy. Great for day hikes. I've used some borrowed Lowa Hiking boots that were amazing. I would buy Lowas if going on a long hike.
Some second hand Lowa. I love these, super insulated and water proof as well. Have walked through rivers and socks stay dry. Goretex too, looking now they are like 215+ so 40 bucks was a damn steal
And some Salomon pinoneer mids. Super nice for summer, breathable and water resistant. Not as waterproof but drys very quick. The mid is perfect for running but still get some support.

Salomon 4D 2 GTX were the best. The 4D 3 GTX weren't quite as good but still solid. Now there is the 4D 4 GTX and I haven't tried them yet but they look like a step down.
Most people who want hiking boots would be much better served with a quality trail runner. If you're going to be on trails, a trail runner will be lighter, faster, and overall a much better choice in footwear. I use hiking boots only for off-trail forays where the footing is loose and I need ankle support, or if there is snow on the ground. Almost all of my long distance backpacking has been done in trail runners.
If you can elaborate a bit on what your intended usage is I may be able to help a bit more. I've hiked/backpacked thousands upon thousands of miles and also done some fairly serious ultra running.
I have used an older version of the Lowa Tibet LL for 6 years now. Wax them twice a year and they are still amazing. Got an insole molded to my foot pretty cheap when i bought them which seems to have been worth it. I feel incredibly safe when off trail in them.

For sure. Sometimes less is more. Def a lot of stuff you want more for but a lot of people aren't hiking it. Fuck I hike a lot of shit in sandals when it's mellow.
Also I used to run trails a bunch. Never races outside of XC in high school. Brain, and knee injuries don't let me run anymore. Like I literally do not run at all. But I like going up mountains. The cushion of going up I can sometimes sort of run a little bit or do a slowed down version of running. It's sick. I miss running so much. Hiking long distance is fun because it's about the closest I get these days.

agreed on all. those salomons are the best hiking boots ive found, but at least half the time i use something lighter
I'm a huge fan of Keen, I did a season tree planting in a pair and they held up just fine. If you have wide feet or just want to be able to spread your toes on there Keen are for you.
