The Crappy East

This east sucks because there is never any snow! I was just out for 6 hours building a 4 foot kicker with 1 inch of snow on the ground( we make due wuth what we can). The east is so icy. This year has been a little better, but still not up to the west's standard. When I went out to THE CANYONS and I was amazed at the snow, it was awesome! The people from the west are spoiled little brats.

ok dude...we live on the east coast...you have to deal with ice. this year was the shit...and you can't try to compare it to the west. the east is the east and we're the shit for being able to tear up runs half covered in ice, unlike those lil babies that get to ski in powder all the time...jk. but seriously don't bitch about it...at least we don't live in the midwest where they only have 200ft of very.

Ya I guess you are right, the west skiers are spoiled with all the powder. We do rip up the ice.

what really sucks is this year i went out west finally to mammoth, u learn here and land on icy hard as shit landings and its sweet to stick them, but out west the landings are so soft that its totally different so u can land to much shit right away

the east is the best place to learn hoe to ski cause of the shitty snow. What I'm saying is when all the west coasters come out hear they won't be able to land anything on our ice and we'll be ripping it harder than them.

In some mag they took a bunch of western skiers and brought them to the east and they had a hard time skiing on hard snow. so we are the better skiers

but the reason most people (east coast skiers) have trouble skiing pow isn't a lack of skill, its that they have to tone down the skills they use everyday. Also, most east coast skiers are not used to not being able to see their skis, so that can take a little time to get used to as well.

A west coast skier coming east, usually has problems because they have been ''spoiled'' by the snow. I don't mean that in a bad way, but the softness of the snow of west makes skiing easier. Out West, you need to keep your feet more under your body and the softness of the snow does not require you to be in ideal balance (the snow is a lot more forgiving about fore and aft balance issues).

Now I'm not saying all West Coast skiers are bad, there are a great deal that are exceptional. Personally, I just think to truly be a top notch skier, its important to have experience skiing both coasts.

The funniest thing I've ever heard was the first time I went to Utah, skiing at Snowbird, sitting around at the end of the day, and some old lady was complaining about the day being the worst conditions she had ever skied. Me and my brother almost spit out our drinks we were laughing so hard, we both agreed it was most likely one of the top 10 days (conditions) we had ever skied.

I can relate. I tried to set up a rail yesterday and it sucked! there was like 1 inch of snow on the ground. The west is very lucky.

If you come to new england to ski u gatta expect anything. Most of the time its icy and shit here, but if you learn to ski the shit ur better when you go out west to the powder or nice groomed trails. East coast still kicks ass though
