DOPE SNOW = ALIEXPRESS ?

Hi folks.Started seeing of dopesnow posts on instagram recently. And later my girl asked my to buy her this jacket.

I'v have seen this clothes couple years ago , and it did not catch my mind, nothing special, simple, cheap. And DOPE GOGGLES was clearly just a rebranded COPOZZ goggles from aliexpress.

But now I see some hype about it. Desided to look closer, even got some "dope" jacket to touch before purchase.

Well.. it is a really cheap and poor quality outerwear, very low-budget fabric ( I have lots of outerwear to compare to, 686 , burton, saga, north face ). What this hype is all about?... I'm really confused. For 240$ ... such poor almost aliexpress quality.
And ahh...those copozz goggles with "DOPE" branding))))))

It more looks like an another type of a modern scam. Anyone tried to exposed it?

Their target market doesn't need high quality gear. Your average Dope/Montec wearer doesn't slam on rails or get caught up on tree branches or anything. just fits the minimalistic look at a cheaper price than most brands

Yes this, Dope/Montec is pretty much just Shein for skiers.

FWIW tho, pretty much every single outerwear company in skiing (except Arcteryx, I think) outsources to either China or Vietnam, so in certain aspects they are not so different. In my eyes they are simply taking an already iffy business model (making mega cheap garments in poor countries and selling them for ridiculous markups) to the next level.

BTW anybody interested in this stuff should check out Import Yeti, its a free website that compiles public bill of ladings data to show what companies ship what and to whom internationally. Very good for snuffing out companies that are very quiet about where they build stuff. A few examples:

i'm pretty sure I read that other than the super high end flagship stuff all arcteryx is made in indonesia

the highest end patagonia/arcteryx is all made in Vietnam.
even $3000 bogner jackets are made in Vietnam

Thats true and when I wrote this thread I tried to say - dopesnow is just ..cheap quality, no matter where it was made.
I mean you can produce north face futurelight jacket in China, and dopesnow jacket in China. But it would be two totally different products. Maybe the reason its cheap is - a very specific customer, stupid customer or a person who isnt really picky attentive person. He usually consumes such fast food.
