Thanks. IMHO it's the only way to do it. Either a proper detune to maximize the longevity of your skis & their performance on rails (& minimize the damage to the carving attributes by detuning only where you need/want to), or no detune at all, sharping the shit out of your edges like the racers do and maximize the carving attributes.
Comparing it to mounting your bindings. You don't just throw the bindings on the skis, drill the holes and screw the bindings to wherever they end up on the ski.
You weigh different mounting points on that particular ski of yours which give you different performance. You need to take the BSL & DIN to account etc. and even different bindings to best suit your needs.
