WestSystemsGFlextook my local shop an hour so i can’t relate
IsaacNW82Insane that it takes shops any time to do this. If you have the jig its a very very quick job
grantn_Yeah yeah first-world problems whatever, but waiting for your new skis to get mounted is the worst (and best for anticipation). You have your new pair in hand, felt the flex and those brand-new edges, but still can't ride them. And if you don't have another pair of boots, you cant even ski your old setup. But in the end, it's all worth it.

33luke33nothing like them saying your boots/bindings aren't up to "industry standard" and trying to sell you a $600 pair of Salomon dad boots. literally had one guy say I shouldn't center mount my skis unless I'm skiing switch 50% or more of the time. I stg they always act like they're some kind of ski wiz who knows whats best for you when they don't
supremeblientelewith gripwalk being the new norm, a lot of last gen bindings are seriously unsafe to ride with newer gripwalk boots. so its not really a surprise that a shop told u that...... blame gripwalk, not the shop techs. they cant legally mount ur shit if the boots/bindings arent compatible. i can promise you that you wouldnt want to ski a boot / binding that doesnt clip in as it should. very dangerous, you'd be ejecting all the time / risking injury
also u kinda sound like the "ski wiz who knows everything" who u despise.
if a shop tech told u ur shit is incompatible, chances are he knows what he's talking about and doesnt want u getting hurt / him getting sued. i highly doubt they were trying to upsell u some boots unless u genuinely needed them in order to mount.
also he's right, true center mounts are fucking stupid 90% of the time.

Shifty_GodJust grab a drill put in some holes and hope for the best
ErthwurmpIn my experience, the wait time at ski shops is inversely related to the amount of beer brought to the employees as a tribute.
