Where to get a ski industry related job/internship

I'm a freshman in college in my second semester right now, and I want to do something fun yet also helpful. I've seen ads for internships at ski apparel companies like Jiberish and also at K2, but they always seem to disappear. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I should be looking for them and maybe a place I could work over the summer? I'm located in California, maybe you guys can give me suggestions.

I already know that next winter break I'll be working at a resort, so I'm totally looking forward to that.

Depending on ur skills and such, Woodward hires for the summer and so does hood. Woodward has coaching options available for indoors and outdoors. Some a little more hands on but maybe even a local resort wants help refurbishing and maintaining rails over the summer.

Email is your friend but it’s tough if you’re not close to anything. I have gotten internships, in California, by just sending emails. But it depends on what you want to do. You want to do retail, ski resort, or building? I have experience in all of those and the first part is putting yourself out there and saying you want to help and not being afraid of being shot down.

I checked hood out for job opportunities, do yk whether they give housing discounts as well? couldn't find anything similar.

Thinking abt terrain park attendant or liftie, not sure.

If you work for Timberline there is employee housing in Govy at the Summit Apartments (Scummits)

ON3P has a ski building internship they offer in the summer as well.

They might not do it anymore. You could email them. However, it is unpaid labor. You basically work an entire summer or so to get one pair of customs.

My advice would be to apply for their seasonal summer ski builder position which is currently open. Make a resume and write them a cover letter. If you don't hear back from them in 2 weeks, hit them with a follow up email.

The "Summer Seasonal" job opening basically sounds exactly like their old internship program except you actually get paid.

look for a marketing internship at a large/established brand that will look good on your resume.

interneships are the entry point for many in the ski industry.

Could start looking now, apply next year and try to start an internship the summer after Junior year.

( I was an intern at k2 in 04 )
