tdolloits exactly the same as remount pivots. Theres just 2 extra holes in front of the heels for the risers.
ViolentSkiBladeBeaaauuuut. Thanks man, wanted to make sure its not a ridiculously tedious process.
tdolloA trick with mounting cast is to lay the metal toepiece plate on the ski, then line up the toepiece assembly with the holes before you screw it on. This way when you put the screws in they go in perfectly vertical every time.
ViolentSkiBladeHey all, I'm looking to get some new touring boots, but I think I may need to remount my bindings. Is it just absolutely atrocious to remount cast or is it decently possible without fucking up my skis?
skrtfestthrow cast away and don't worry about remounting, ski a shift or rotation binding
ViolentSkiBladePrefer pivot release
skrtfestNo offense but you sound mega dumb saying that shit.
ViolentSkiBladePride myself in sounding dumb
skrtfestActually tho go rent a pinned set up with dynafit rotations or shifts and get yourself to release on them. Coming from an EX pivot fanboy I can spot no difference and have certainly taken a few releases on each binding. If you plan on actually having an efficient day of BC skiing cast is not the move.

Profahoben_212Dude shifts are well known as a steaming pile that shops can sell to dentists who might one day get into touring. Flimsy, heavy, pre-release issues etc. Every person I know that had shifts took them off and sold them within the season.
IMO if you are able to have a BC quiver I see no need for anything between a cast ski and a pin ski (ATKS probs). You simply get the worst of both worlds with the in between bindings like shifts, tectons or kingpins.
If you can only have one ski for inbounds/bc I would go with cast.
skrtfestShifts are known to be a pile of crap because they are so common. Quantity = more issues being seen. Based on quantity I have seen way more prevalent issues other bindings on the market. they are not my choice of binding, but they seem to be what this guy needs more than a shit cast system
maaatttAlso, why did this random guy make an alias to shit on cast? No one getting it is picking them up for the efficiency
