Losing motivation to ski, please help

Too bad bozo what are we supposed to do about it, if you don’t like skiing then you don’t like skiing 🤷‍♂️

just go have fun on the mountain, I have seen 3 or so people just like you make this post in the past month. you don’t have to like park skiing.

Take a break get a cam film some homies and then get back onto it,seeing ur homies throw down some shit will prolly motivate u to try some shit and have some fun

if you live in the west or the east I think just take a break from the park and hit some big mountain, tons of pros do the same. I've heard interviews saying park skiing gets stale, so they take it to the backcountry and then eventually want to come back to the park.

or just go full ski racer mode

I play a lot of trombone when I’m not in the mountains. Really soothes the soul. You become who you’re around.

Do some touring! Bagging peaks gives a new type of satisfaction compared to landing a new trick

oh i remember this phase lol. no shame in it. park skiing definitely gets more stale/lame as you age. something about the frontal lobe developing just kinda made me steer away from the park, and i progressively got more into touring and skiing gnarly steep/deep shit, my homies all kinda did the same luckily.

everyone needs some time off here and there to do other things. there was a solid 2 years of my life right after highschool where i probably only went skiing like 5 or 6 times. Had a new gf who i adored, and was really into college / skateboarding / weed / other shit. Definitely glad i took that hiatus in hindsight, it kinda allowed me to grow out of my skier identity and just overall become a more well rounded, like-able, happier person. I also got pretty nice at skating

now im right back where i started getting 60+ days a year, spending the little money i make on this ski addiction. dont lap the park these days much at all anymore, but im skiing more hours than i was in my teenage park years fs, and honestly doing way funner / gnarlier shit in my opinion.

anyways, all im saying is that this is 100% normal/ok and sometime cutting friends out can be a good move. especially little entitled rich ass park brats. it is not uncommon for skiers to be absolute dumpster fire human beings, due to the requirements / nature of the sport....

go make some new friends / ski pow / hit some cliffs , you'll be fine lil homie

This what January does to an mf. Early season is super fun cus your getting back into skiing after months of anticipation and there are some spring like days if your lucky but after Christmas it gets super icy, cold, cloudy and busy. On the east coast we have had half a week of good snow in the last month before it got rained on and its seriously killing me and buddies motivation to ski park and progress when every landing is a sheet of ice. Also there are no spring days in January even when its warm out. It was 42 at my mountain this weekend but since its the dead of winter the sun doesn't get high enough to provide adequate direct light to the snow so it still stays Icey all day. In the end Januarys with no snow suck and mid season burn out because of it is common but don't worry you will start to feel the stoke again as sunnier warmer days come.

Cruise groomers with the homies, hit side-hits, check out some areas you don't usually ski if conditions permit, or just get hammered in the parking lot with your boys. Skiing is still alive and well. Just keep ur head up and have fun whatever you do bro.

bre_adI recently competed in my first rail jam and placed 2nd, winning goggles and other shit. I did not really care about placing 1st but for the past 3 weeks Ive felt park skiing becoming less fun. Every trick I do seems boring, even landing new shit. It is so hard for me to learn new tricks on rails because I don't know how to properly get better. Id practice different tricks a bunch of times after school to closing hours and hours. Nothing is clicking. The fun aspect of park skiing is just going away. Another thing to add to this is that all of my skiing buds are turning toxic and just annoying. I don't know what to do, I feel stuck, I need some help. So i figured I'd come here for some advice.

For me what helped was meeting people out wherever you ski that are just a little better than you so you can progress and have fun, and learn.
