Hey everyone, I hope it's the right place to ask.
I am hoping to find a new set that will suit me, but I have an attachment problem.
In 2013 I bought a pair of 189 120 k2 pettitors. Had a pair of jesters mounted dead center on them and fell in love. I ended up buying 2 spare pairs. I'm on the last one now, and kinda lost on what to switch to, once I kill them off. I get out to the mountains out west in the US at least twice a year, but live by atlanta these days, so I don't get to demo skis much.
If this helps with advice. I'm 6.3, 215, workout often and stay in shape. I love charging on these things, carving hard, and bombing the mountains. Love jumps and riding switch, but don't jump backwards. I'm 38 and healing up takes a bit longer. I don't do rails either, but love to venture in the park and hit doubles. I hope you get the idea.
I took these things to Jackson hole, alta and woods, like mount Bohemia in UP. They are not perfect, don't get me wrong. But they just feel reliable and solid as hell... probably because they weight a ton, they are not very poppy.
If at all possible, I'd love to find something that is a bit more poppy, so it would take a bit less effort to lift off on small things, other than jumps. But that is also confident at high speeds, and that you can ride switch on. These have worked for me in all conditions, and since I fly out everywhere I go, I usually bring one pair.
Sorry about the long post. I've demoed soul 7 a couple of years back, but they were too chattery at speed. Picked up a pair of Icelantic pioneers 109 the last one. And I just felt like they were easier to wash out on...
I've been reading up, and considering maybe trying bent chettlers 120, or solomon qst blanks. But I'd hate to buy another pair of skis that feels disappointing next to these 2 giant planks strapped to my feet.
Thank you for reading so far. I'd appreciate any help.
