Replying to Ski flex for butters
**This is a preference not trying to start any arguments just wondering what others think
Iv done butters on numerous pairs of skis ranging in flex but I personally find a mid flex ski with a stiff underfoot to be the best for butters. While they are harder to initiate, once you get up on the noses it is much easier to control and don’t just smear. I rode the multiple pairs of the arv 96ti zeros which were a touch stiffer than the regular arv 96 and they were one of my favorite skis for butters. You could press super hard way up on the tips and get a nice snap out of them. Super predictable. The mango 100s I’m on now are similar, much softer up in the tip but still solid support under foot. Iv also found that skis that flex more from underfoot are the worst for butters and the least predictable. I often find that the skis I like most for butters are the skis people say are too stiff or are hard to butter. What is your opinion? Do y’all like a mid flex ski, a flexy ski, one that’s flexes from underfoot or from the tip? And why do you prefer that flex pattern?
