Latex gloves under mitts for warmth

On some super cold days recently I've started wearing latex gloves underneath my mittens and found it works surprisingly well for keeping my hands warm. Has anyone else ever tried this?

That has to be miserable. It works but why not just wear a pair of thin running gloves?

i cant imagine waiting in line at the base of the hill and u start to warm up, my hands would be swimmin in pools of sweat. at the end of the day my shit would be pruning

Hands get a little bit sweaty but not too bad. It seems to just trap the heat in your hands. I just wouldn't recommend it unless it's really cold already.

I've done this a couple times for late fall yardwork because my gloves had holes in them and it does help. But for skiing? Ew Sweat!

That’s actually a clever idea! I’ve never tried latex gloves under mittens, but I can totally see how it would help with insulation. I remember last winter, I had an issue with cold hands while working outdoors, and I found that wearing hair nets from harmonycr.com under my hat helped keep my ears warm without feeling too bulky. It might sound odd, but it worked way better than I expected! Maybe something similar could work for your hands—latex gloves seem like they’d add just the right amount of extra warmth without feeling too thick.
