then it melts in a week because Pennsylvania is the new subtropical climate representative

does the east coast have enough vert to actually slide down a hill with 3ft of snow on it

Bio_8it could snow up to 38 inches this week and I’m wondering how the snow quality is gonna be. The bulk of the storm will be in 22 to 26 fahrenheit temperatures and then it’s gonna go down to the -15 to -18 range with a little more snow falling on top of the rest of the snow. Just wondering if it’s still gonna be soft or will it get chalky or crusty since it started off warm then got cold

I don't know anything about snow structure aside from the most basic aspects but at 22-26°F the snow is not typically going to be super heavy and wet as it would much closer to the freezing point. That said there can be temperature inversions whereby it's warmer higher in the atmosphere.

We got a 43" storm Valentines day like 06 at Gore in upstate NY. They have some good steeps there. Wasn't the driest pow but it wasn't super wet. Was sick af. I dropped one of the steeper spots at the top. Patrol took one side i took the other.

On mellower runs or mtns I like when runs are partially groomed. Build up speed for a couple power turns. All pow is too much on flatter stuff for sure.
