Hey guys
I'm looking for a boot that I'm using 100% for normal alpine skiing and not touring.
I know the krypton would be the one to go here but it's way harder to find one of them and they're way more expensive too for whatever reason...
So then I found out about the lupo pro hd because it's pretty much same as the krypton in terms of flex and last width but it has a walk mode which I don't need but it might come in handy because maybe some day I'll start touring.
Am I gonna have any downsides with the lupo compared to the krypton in downhill performance?
Because I do a lot of big drops and jumps I'm worried about the walk mode "lever" on the back of the boot blowing off or something.

They beefed it up, it used to be somewhat of an issue but it’s fixed now at least that’s what I’ve been told by my Dalbello rep. Both are solid af boots for sure and realistically it’s gonna take a really off balance landing to blow a walk mode up

I rock a set of dalbello lupo Ax 120's everyday and absolutely love them. They're comfy, pleanty stiff, lightweight and they are a well thought out design.
My only tip would be to tie a knot in the end of each string that sinches the liner down so it can't pull through the little gripper

All things being equal, a boot without walk mode will provide better support than a boot with a walk mode. Also a walk mode has more moving parts than no walk mode = more that can break. Whether you're heavy enough and sending big enough to notice or break something is another question. If you're not going to tour I would def go with the krypton. With that being said the Lupo pro HD is one of the beefiest touring boots there is and most people wouldn't be able to tell a difference or be able to break it
