I’m dead serious. The east coast needs to boycott these Vail owned resorts by not buying the Epic pass. All these fuckin speed rules.. $15 minimum just to park at Mount Snows Carinthia?? I’m off it. Next season… we boycott.
u feel me??!!

JITYYes, the 20 people that you convince not to buy epic passes will make a dent in the 2 million that vail sold last year.

timdrachanwhen you take into account these 20 people all have imaginary friends and voices that have passes too this could actually be devastating for vail
eheathSome people don't have an option.
Also, a couple hundred park skiers not skiing at vail resorts would probably be seen as a positive by vail.
If you really wanna fuck with vail, bring more park skiers and degens to their resorts and scare off the tourists.
Farmville420I think a massive chunk of mount snows ticket sales are strictly for carinthia, so that’s one mountain where they would actually feel it I think. Idk about any other mountains in the east tho.
Vail sucks but springs and carinthia are red hot right now idk about the rest, I know Boulder is a graveyard but that’s about it
eheathIdk man, I think you're grossly overestimating the amount of park skiers, I.E. people who go to the mountain to only ski park. Sure the random jerry here and there will cruise thru the park, but they spend 90% of their day not skiing the park.
I bet < 10% of the people who buy a pass to ski at mount snow are "park skiers".
PsychicMigrationIt’s probably even far lower then that
eheathidk mount snow is a popular park destination, but I don't know how many people ski at mount snow daily so its hard to guesstimate.

bogustUnfortunately as someone in Western Mass getting an epic pass to ski Carinthia just makes more sense than anything else. If i could afford a killington pass I would get one. Butternut and Wachusetts both have good parks but they are nowhere close to Carinthias and the passes are the same cost as the Epic I have. I hate everything about Mount Snow but to be able to hit 8 rails in the same run and have early season parks makes it worth it.

partyandBS$15 bucks with a bunch of homies isnt shit. Get yo funds up son! I bet they have carpool discounts and free lot/shuttle options.
if you get a bunch of park skiers to boycott then they will be like damn parks are dying lets not invest in this and that would further kill park skiing. You should boycott the pay lots and make them reconsider but guarantee others will pay.
eheathyeah PC you can park for free with 4 people in your car, im sure mt snow has something too...
OPs complaints are paid parking and yellow jackets, both are avoidable, its a classic case of one complaining about something just to complain.
eastcoasticeicleI am 22 and have skied Stowe my whole life. My dad has been a part-time ski patroller my whole life just to get the family passes. Unfortunately, the epic pass is too good a deal for the weekend warrior from mass/ new york who wants to ski come up to ski on the weekend. All of my friends who I grew up skiing park with at Stowe also got their passes through parents working part-time or volunteering. I don't think that the locals/core skiers have even 0.1% of the revenue that makes up vail resorts.
It sucks having your home resort turned into Disney Land but it was bound to happen with the increase in people getting into the sport. hopefully, they stay at the resort and out of my touring spots.
You have to hand it to them though. If I were running a ski resort I would want 90% of my income to come from season pass sales and know what my budget is by September.

KilaTsunamiThat sounds like an awesome time, and 1000x more convenient

snowfinderYesterday here on the ice coast we had a little powder day. Went to a Vail resort doesn't matter which one because they are all the same now. It was much busier than any year pior for a Monday non holiday, the skiers were struggling to ski the freshly fallen snow. It was honestly dangerous at times with the how many people were on the slopes and the lack of experience they have both in terms of ski ability and knowledge of safety on the slopes. Spent each chairlift ride trying to get a sense if some of them wished to gain experience in either of those important factors of skiing and they didn't seem to give a shit. They just came up from the city for the weekend and heading home that night. Before Vail took over multiple east coast resorts this kind of skier was isolated to weekends and holidays, but now they are here daily. It's understandable from a business aspect Vails wants these people here as much as possible to over charge them from parking to food. These people seem to have more money than brains and happily hand over anything Vails tells them too. Honestly it is depressing seeing this happen and literally nothing can be done to stop it.

ski@jaypeak2Stowe has always catered to the Mass/New York crowd that wants to spend more time at the spa than on the mtn. I know locals try to keep it a hardcore skiers mtn but once Spruce was built there was no turning back unfortunately.
CoolChillGuy420boohoo, try getting up at 5am everyday to go to work like most of their employees do and have to take multiple busses sometimes or shuttles to get to work. Sorry you don't get to park on the ski beach anymore.
r00kieYou realizing that you're not Vail's target customer doesn't make it a boycott. Like Eheath said, they're probably fine not having a bunch of park skiers around .

TOAST.I'll do one better, I'll make them pay me for a season pass
KilaTsunamiYeah dawg I’m in that same boat. I love that these smaller hills are trying their best tho. They also just have a better vibe overall
eheathidk mount snow is a popular park destination, but I don't know how many people ski at mount snow daily so its hard to guesstimate.
SkiBum.I would also like to say that Vail buying out Mount Snow and Peak Resorts was probably the best thing to happen to Mt Snow. Peak Resorts was a dumpster fire of a struggling company with massive debt and a leadership team that was horrible.
I hate Vail just as much as the next person but at least Mt Snow now has better funding, management, vision and resources.

KilaTsunamiBetter funding.. yes. Vision? Definitely not 20/20. Last years carinthia had about 700 stall features. Yawn. Carinthia was perfect the way it was pre vail, can’t remember the last time I seen em put the barn out.
JITYI think a more effective solution would be to ostracize everyone who buys an epic pass from skiing
