Parks should use convex mirrors like the ones used to see around blind corners on the road.
I would love for you to give a good way to put this in on a jump with no trees around. Can't put it on the knuckle because people go on that, and a big fucking mirror on the side of a jump is asking for a recipe for disaster

Parks just need common sense. If you haven’t seen anyone ride away from the jump. Don’t jump. Whoever is near the jump, if it needs closing. Close the fucking jump.
I’ve never been ran into more, had someone snake a line, or obliviously block a feature more than this past season. Just feels like common sense is out the window when compared to pre covid.

this would be useful when theres nobody and you want to know if somebody is injured in the landing
So blind corner mirrors you're looking at when you're like 100 feet out or less. The drop in to jump knuckle is bigger. Then we're talking 2 or 3 jump line. Okay, lets say it works for the first one(probably not great) what about 2 and 3? Then are you going to put them on every jump knuckle everywhere? If not, why did you have it on that jump but not this jump if it's a safety thing?
Then maintenance. Now you have some big pole that not only need to be kept straight and angled right. It needs to be kept out of the way or moved for maintenance. Too close to the top where you'd probably want it and now you have to dodge it with your tiller.
Idk, cool concept in theory maybe? Pretty impractical.
If you want to avoid landing on people have a friend spot or watch the person in front of you and make sure they land. Mtns are never going to install mirrors or cameras for the landings. Maybe 1 fringe mtn somewhere would try it. But otherwise it's not going to happen.
If you see somebody eat shit, roll down and make sure they're okay, block the takeoff and throw up an x. If you lose a ski or pole yell up to people, hike up the side of the knuckle and run and grab that shit quick and get back to the side if it's hot. Obviously, not jumping out when somebody is coming.
Just use common sense and watch out for each other.

Take infrared beams like they use for race/mogul start gates and put them across the landing just high enough that snow couldn't build up high enough to block it. Put a stop light next to the jump. Easier than dealing with a tv outside in the cold and just hope someone doesn't ski over the sensors.
If you wanna get crazy with it, put a camera pointed at the landing, map out the landing/area right after and code for it to put up a red light if anything not snow colored is in the landing area. No sensors to deal with on the landing and you just need a camera connected to a cheap computer that can talk to the stoplight.

Found one on amazon for $600. Hell, the spy kids toy I had when I was 8 that went "WEE WOO" when you blocked its path was like $6. It costs like 100 grand for my east coast local to blow snow for its park. The biggest issue I see is insurance. B netting is a good safety feature but mountains often don't use them cause if someone gets hurt then the mountain "failed" to protect the skier even if the alternative was dying from hitting a tree. This could be an insurance benefit if it always works cause it would be skier negligence for ignoring but if it's green and someone gets hurt it's a big fucking problem.

Still doesn’t make sense, wouldn’t it only work on small jumps on big jumps the drop in spots are far from the actual lip so how are skiers supposed to see all the way to the end of the landing with the miror ?
