Have you set your playback quality to low? Also premiere is hard on older macbooks(pre 2017) so that might be an issue as well. Also check your project settings, you could be trying to render in a format the video doesnt like.If you don't do anything crazy with your edits id recommend Final Cut X as its native to mac and wont bug out. Ive been using final cut for 2 years now and you can do everything premiere can. If your looking to take editing more seriously switch to DaVinci resolve.

what codec are you screen recordings in? resolution?

ive had a few times where screen recording would get fucked up for me, I popped them in encoder and re-exported them, imported back in premiere and they worked flawlessly

oh im blind it's in the adobe forum post. I know nothing about macbooks. Was it running adobe premiere fine previously?
