CoolChillGuy420Bumping for a legend. Legend bump going on here.
DominatorJacquesHa ha! The video is an hour long! One needs to watch it all!
No way you could have watched it all now, but I will still love you anyway!
aCHILLescan I just ship my skis to you
IsaacNW82Thanos is the man. Dominator has some awesome educational material and Thanos is happy to help teach what wax to use and how to apply it. Just ordered some wax to try out, can't wait!
DominatorJacquesI guess I should have said, I don't sell wax, I just review it and try to help others to learn about it.
Nobody pays me one thin dime!
IsaacNW82To be clear, Dominator Wax and Dominator Jacques are unrelated haha, at least as far as I know
andreyerI miss you hugh
DominatorJacquesStill have not ironed or scraped for 24 days now.
The performance continues to be insanely good!
Been sharing the FFC with friends, and they are being blow away. I'm happy.

driftsprobably changing over to this paste wax because of this thread
SofaKingSickso just to be clear, you use this paste the way someone would typically use something like this? but it's performing so well that you haven't bothered hot waxing in 24 days?
SofaKingSickno i know they're different, but you use it the same way you'd use those other on-hill things like spray or rub-on, right? like ideally your skis should be waxed but this helps a little whether you waxed or not?
driftswhat I got from the video was you'll want to clean and prep the skis like you would for a nice hot wax but then you apply paste let it set for a little then buff it in. I dont think this is product you'll slap on mid day with cold/wet dirty skis in the parking lot

SofaKingSickthanks! and thanks to jacques, i'm still interested. gotta go fast
SofaKingSickfantastic. prob gonna get some soon. thank you for the heads up!
IsaacNW82Update: FFC base prep and glide hot wax and floater paste arrived this morning. No time to hot iron, applied floater paste extremely haphazardly in the parking lot while putting on my boots.
This stuff is legit. Feels like the best wax I've ever used (FWIW the best I've used prior is swix hot wax), and I even half-assed it like crazy. Can't wait to see how a proper base prep/hot wax/scrape and brush performs, given how well a paste applied in 20F with no scrape or brush on a completely destroyed base does

DominatorJacquesOn that note, I tried a 0 F application, after 35 minutes, it never dried, so I believe one needs either a spring day, or an indoor room temp. for it to work correctly. Paste needs to fully dry.

PartyBullshiitWhat’s their all temp version?
DominatorJacquesThey have Floater paste that they claim is for backcountry (ungroomed snows) for all conditions. It's currently sold out.
Other than that, all the "all temps" are hot waxes.

driftsive held off on these because I cant decide what temp range, I'm guessing as someone who waxes their skis maybe a couple times a season any temp range is going to be better than what I usually ski on

PartyBullshiitWhat’s been the longest you’ve skied or I guess the most comfortable length of time you’d go between applications?
I have a Tahoe trip coming up but I fly from south Florida. So weight is a premium and as such I usually never bring brushes etc to wax my skis on trips.
ill be skiing a total of about 25 hours actual snow time. Would you think a single coating would last my entire trip?
DominatorJacquesThat would be pushing it for sure. All the paste are air travel approved, so just a brush to go, and you will be better off.
There's no mess, so in a motel room, or wherever, you can do it.
Also, you could just rub on wax and buff out anytime with the Zoom waxes, for example. Rub and buffs don't last that long, but can work much, much better than nothing, and that can be done even in the cold. Good luck.
PartyBullshiitIf I was going to use a single brush with the paste on the trip would you recommend a nylon or brass?
DominatorJacquesBrass before, and after application, once good and dry for sure!
PartyBullshiitThanks for the help. I’m going to give it a shot. I had using the iron and scraping.
The bases just need to be prepped period first correct? I already have prep wax on hand so I don’t need to use the ffc 1 prep first right?
I can use my wax then just apple the ffc ns 2?
DominatorJacquesBecause the Elite, and FFC paste have been so awesome, I'm going full steam with a Legacy paste kit!
I'll be getting them soon. Read the print if you can! (click the photo, and read easy)

DominatorJacquesOkay, I tried an application at 21F. It did not cure after about 40 minutes. I wiped off with a paper towel, then brushed after another 10 minutes or so. Skis ran fine.
In conclusion, I would say at below freezing temperatures, it's not going to set-up.
I didn't figure it would, but still wanted to try, so I would know for sure.
I continue to be extremely impressed with the performance of both the FFC, and Elite paste. Serious mail has been hauled.
Still have not used an iron this season. Been using only three of my over 25 pairs for this testing for over 45 days now.
I'd have more days, but the weather has been real crappy at Bachelor this season!
scratchskier321is the Elite paste for new snow really that much better than the FFC paste in new snow? (im thinking pow day)
DominatorJacquesFor fresh fallen snow, use the FFC P2 C. Harder wax is always better for powder!
