Where old men go to ski

Tore my ACL and both menisci in my right knee last spring, had surgery during summer and have to sit this winter out during physical therapy. Can not wait to get back out there but I do start to think that my days of skiing fast and landing flat are done. I will be 32 once I am back on snow and I am simply done with getting wrecked.

My plan is to spend next winter at my home resort skiing rails and groomers to test out my "new" knee.

To get myself through PT I have started thinking about taking the winter off from work in 2025 and just go skiing. I am looking for mellow park skiing and occational powder, but I can't make my mind up about where to go. I spent a season in Mammoth a few years ago which obviously was nice, but coming back with a bum knee I probably won't even hit the jumps in main. Also, I would do just fine without the occational invation of people from SoCal.

Looking at @DominatorJacques real laps, Bachelor seems to be what I am looking for. Tubes and tree skiing in Brighton seems nice too. Maybe Timberline?

Please help me out, where do old men go to ski?

Oldman here with multiple knee surgeries. Get healed up OP and get through your PT. I can vouch for Bachelor and all the resorts on Hood, cant go wrong as they offer good terrain along with some great parks. No need to slow down, keep at it and go have fun!

@Loodwik , I can't recommend any place to ski, but I can tell you it takes time, and a lot of work to get through it.
My knee continued to improve for about four years. Take your supplements to include MSM, collagen peptides, and glucosamine chondroitin. Good luck!

I had a tibia plateau fracture which was 2 knee surgeries. You can still ski fast and huck your junk off stuff but just pick your moments more. Usually in softer conditions and when you're feeling good. Brighton is an amazing mountain. Definitely my fav in the Wasatch range with Snowbird.

you are still young OP. vibes on the knee. maybe you will get back to what you were doing before. maybe you will find something you like even more. I had a knee surgery and then ended up getting addicted to monoskiing. Life is weird

I tore my ACL and partial meniscus in 2020, couldn’t get the surgery because of Covid stopping non essential surgeries. Missed the following season because I finally got the surgery in Jan and got back out last year. Knee felt surprisingly good, mentally I had a tough time getting back to where I was/trusting my knee. Still hesitant to hit features I wouldn’t think twice about but I think it’s from 2+ seasons not skiing more than my knee, and not having anyone to lap with. Spend a good amount of time in the small and medium parks with my Wife and am ok with it… bummer to remember hitting all the Large stuff and not being back at it but if you do your PT you should be good to go!

This is most def a valid solution. Looking at the lack of snow in the alps right now makes me question having to choose a spot before the winter even starts.
