I disagree, a slightly cinched jacket is better than no cinch especially if its a really stiff jacket. Full cinch parachute pants is whatever, I am old a think it looks weird.

Also functional, keeps snow and wind out. I cinch mine below my pants, never thought of it as a look thing and more so for the technical aspect.

People care too much about outerwear. Wear what you want. Supporting good skier companies is obviously better but so is supporting recycling clothing like thrifting and so is supporting anyone who gets into skiing regardless of their kit.
