shape/profile remind me of an odyssey and on3p mixed into one..know of someone who's ripping them..i think they're edgy and different which is what misfit is def is going for to get some traction. Emmett mentioned some stuff on two planker pod.
Aren't they supposed to be softer than wets? Seems to me if they are than it's a pointless ski. Just like the new jetskis there is such a thing as too soft. I can barely 360 with how soft my wets are and jacksparrows jets were a little bit better thanks to shape butstill to soft .

I think they are tight, I allllmost got a pair instead of my Wide Plusses but somethin about buying a ski in it’s debut year I can’t justify, especially if it’s something I’m gonna put thru the wringer almost daily on trees street and park….
In the future if they don’t revision skis themselves I might get a pair next season. I was gonna get regular Wides since I sold my wets but if these look promising it might be a move
As some one who rides them every time i ski at my local mountain (not street or backcountry) I have to say that the are definitely very fun. they are not way to soft. they are sorta stiff underfoot, and have a flex point where they become fairly soft. these skis have taken lots of abuse, such as but not limited too: hitting rocks, trees, hitting lots of rails, i absolutely slam my edges into rails btw, flips, grass, being ridden over. I do like them a lot. I am a heavy ski abuser. The top sheet is taking some damage, but not like chipping out the whole ski, I only have one edge crack, I did detune edges heavily, but as i said i slam my edges into rails very hard on purpose, last year i did one run on a pair of blackcrows and cracked an edge, and split open the tip of my surface skis and had about 10 edge cracks on the season. The skis carve really well, and are my fav skis ever ridden, the carve way to good, and i dont have trouble with the 106 underfoot on rails or in the park, as i can still pull of triple pretz swaps, and other tricks like such. If you want a specific question answered about them let me know
I am 5 9 130pounds and ride the 184
The recent one Ankilla posted (that misfit reshared) with the WW2 German soldier archival footage was kinda yikes. What was the point of ankilla putting that in there? It serves no purpose but to provoke and it’s not a good look given his past comments about Jews, etc. Then add Kanye on top. What is he trying to say? A few too many coincidences in one.
Way*MoIm not going to buy skis from a place supporting Ankilla and his videos using Ye.
Upon reflection, this is directed more at Ankilla and not at misfit. It’s an easy thing to overlook and he is a customer of theirs.
But he still can do some whack shit

Just stumbled on some blinks on facebook..my conspiracy is that misfits are just revisions. Peeps must of just bought the lot off skis.com and now they're rebranding them after 6 years. Dimensions/shape are pretty similar and squarish tips. Also wild how skis were like $250 lol

Nah, different owners. Misfit is run by some kids at park city who would have been like 10 years old when revision existed

Dawg they're ever so slightly softer than the 2018-2019 ARV 106s, for all intensive purposes, they're stiff. You get a lil play in the end of the noses, and a lil more play in the tails. But under foot is a FUCKIN BOARD.

Ok good to know. I'll tell this kid with blends not to get them. Because he expects them to be softer than blends and that's where I got my information from

Stuuuuuupi😂
They don't support me. I bought my skis for full price. They're local guys I'm friends with. I also happen to be technically the best skier who rides them. So I have put out a review on em and multiple edits. But we don't have any deal. They're just a local brand.

Well as per usual, my edits are Art. They are meant to elicit an internal response in everyone. Positive or negative. It depends on the person.
For you, it exposed the negative emotions you're holding. Why? I'm not sure, and maybe you aren't either.
For me, I created that edit because of the state of prayer I was in while developing and filming that line throughout the weekend. I was very scared about that line because of the Right Unnat 5 and the issues with speed on the Left Switch Cork 5 and the 7. So I prayed a lot while I skiied, asking for strength and protection. Kanye's "Heaven & Hell" fit the experience.
Way*MoThey cannot be unaware of the polarizing nature and dumbass takes of Ankilla at this point though.
They can’t control if he uses their product, but they can choose not to share it and promote him using it.
Believe it or not, I have explicitly had conversations with Misfits, and they don't care about you guys crying over words. They also see the benefit of me riding their skis given my reputation and following in the community.
Well they might care more when they lose sales over your poor takes and outright ignorant views.

Oh, and claiming your best skier for any reason is the absolute most trash response a person can give. Learn some humility.

Also not entirely true, it has made all the boys lives tricky having to deal with all the controversies. We’re just trying to make a fun ski for guys to enjoy, tired of the political BS. Go skiing, have fun with your homies, and don’t forget to take your medications.

Legitimate inquiry then. You obviously can’t control Ankilla using your skis nor should you be expected to.
However, you should be aware of the connotations that come with him, especially in an edit with a Ye song. Inherently, there will be ‘political’ associations with that.
If you as a company don’t want to be viewed as ‘political’ why did you re-post said video under company accounts? You are giving more life to Ankilla and coupling your companies image to his by doing so. This is opposite of what you claim to want.

the funky shape is from what I know to increase surface area on an impact so they’re less likely to split from being beaten on rails but correct me if i’m wrong
The tips are designed for touring switch lol, but in all seriousness, this was a little bit of the thought process behind the tip shape.
I didn’t want a generic looking ski from the beginning; I wanted something that made sense with the “Misfit” title, something that stood out or was set apart from the other skis as the definition derives. The “M shape” design came about when I was designing the skis on CAD. I wanted to create a lot of surface area towards the ends of the ski for buttering and for skiing in powder, and I drew inspiration from an older pair of Augment skis. When designing, a rounded off tip looked too fat and squared off shape looked like it would take one ding and start to delaminate. After hours of messing around with shapes and radii, I found myself liking a design I made back in 2017 in the notes folder on my phone that had a shallow divot to help lock in grabs and if by chance the ski took a hard hit and delaminated, it was easily replaced with a rivet on one or both sides of the ski tips. I even had plans for designing custom rivets that came with the skis. (Patent pending haha)

Augment skis I drew some inspo from
A stupid square design that I made
Flash forward to summer of 2020, I was asked to live with my grandparents who needed 24/7 attention, so I moved to Tennessee for the summer break. I was extremely bored so I hand built a dual cavity ski press out of every scrap piece of steel I could find on the farm and in the area completely on my own. I nearly gave up several times simply because I couldn’t lift some of the I-beams into place, but I learned how to move beams with my grandpas old tractor. By the end of the summer, I had my ski press finished, but lord was I nowhere near ready to press a ski. So I brought my press back to Denver for University and left it in a friend's garage. I worked on molds every night I could while going to school full time and working 20+ hours a week. When it was time for the shape, I was most excited to try the “M style” I had designed months before, so I committed to it and got the shape cut out at a local CNC shop. I built a ski that had no business coming out ski good, I wanted to take it to a comp so I was literally cutting my skis out over Zoom to get it done before the 3* freeride comp in Big Sky. Expecting it to live as long as the average Line ski (2 weeks), I waited for it to blow up and fall apart but after 60 plus days of abuse, the skis held up. So I decided to keep the shape and continue prototyping with the help of Ian who now is a huge part of Misfit, the rest is history.
Ski press I designed on CAD, with a little help for J LEV Scrap metal I used to build my press
finalized tip design on the Misfit "0 Soul" graphic (for legal purposes this graphic doesn't exist)
Finalized tail shape on a graphic that was cool but later decided it wasn't hype enough for a production run
Misfit Skis is the antithesis of the modern day "hype" ski brand. We aren't funded by any rich parents, we weren't started by a bored pro skier, and we definitely didn't just pay a random company to put a 5-year-old's drawing of a face on an archived Icelantic ski. Everything you see is raw we are funded, designed, and coordinated by a group of college engineers who love skiing and wanted to design something out of the ordinary that makes you question everything...because why not.
So your telling me your a modern jlev? It's such a good story it's hard to believe! This makes me so proud of the ski community. I'm so hyped for you and if your being honest about 60+ days and still holding up than your first product was better than jlev granted he paved the way.

How dense are you? My stance was, anybody who has to make a claim about how good they are (regardless of if it’s true or not) is a fucking knob. You went and proved me right by doubling down on a whack take.
the shape of these looks fucking sick, but the only person i’ve seen on them is xanny. i know misfit isn’t promoting him but i’m 100% more likely to buy another set of mangos than buy what i associate in my mind as the ankilla skis. i’m aware this is a shit take, i wish i could could see more people riding these on my feed.

So fucking sick, gives me hope I can get my skis out with my own capital and see success. Love the unique shape and press. Sick shit guys

Okay, lets address your initial claim then, since you don't seem to understand that claiming anything makes you a tool.
Cool, you are the 'best' skier using an extremely small start-up ski brand which you presumably purchased. If you showed up to Park City or Woodward on any given day you wouldn't even be in the best 25 skiers on the mountain. Hell there are half a dozen hills in the midwest where you wouldn't be in the top 10.
Globally, there are thousands of skiers better than you, more liked than you, and smarter than you.
But congratulations, you are the best skier riding Misfits right now.

I appreciate your opinion, and I'm glad to hear it. However, as he is a customer, it's somewhat out of my control. That being said, I can assure you that we are becoming more and more aware of everything said and are working towards a solution.
As for getting more people to ride our skis, we're actively working on it. Believe it or not, we're very close to being sold out for the season. However, we want to do more. We've already talked to about 10 guys and are trying to get them fully sponsored for next season. A good portion of our profits will go towards getting good skiers the sponsorship treatment they deserve, which is something I'm excited about. Additionally, we are planning to release a 96mm park-oriented ski that I want to be very reasonably priced yet durable, with the goal of getting more park riders and east coast skiers on something a little more suitable for them.
