I used to have a pair of the AR7 from 2013 and I loved them so much. I have since had the blends for like 3 years and I want to go back to a stiffer pure park ski but the lineup Armada offers doesn't seem to have anything quite like the AR7. The ARV 86's might be the closest thing to em, but it seems like hardly anyone rides them or has much to say on them. What do
tdolloThe AR7 is basically the ARV86. Only difference Is the 86 has the AR75 sidewall as opposed to the AR50 sidewall and a bit more wutang on the tips.
I’ve ridden AR7s for a while back in the day and have ridden the 86 for the a couple seasons as my dedicated park whip. It’s basically the same ski dude

That's really all I needed to hear, thank you brother
yeah the arv86 is the modern day ar7 or what it's grown into
might be worth noting the AR8 they made a few years ago. it was one of the zero series skis and i think it was basically the ar7 from before or the pipe cleaner with a new outfit on. in case you're interested in looking for a used pair, because i think that would be even more similar to the classic ar7
scratchskier321the only note is that the arv86's are much softer than the old AR designs. which kinda ruined it for me.
That makes a big difference. The stiffness + the narrow body really made those mf'ers charge. When you say much softer, how much softer are we talking? Say a ski like the blends are a 3, the AR7's are a 10 - where do the ARV's sit? 6? Any softer I would probably be more interested in something else

much softer, if ar7/pipe cleaner was a 10, the new ones are like 5-6... its totally different, they do not charge anymore.
after riding the ARVs at demo day, i think the TW Pro was closer to the way those old AR7's felt. Thats just my opinion after as few laps on both. The ARV was insanley stiff, like too stiff for my liking, the TW seemed like a nice flexible kinda stiff that ive come to like, it was very supportive in the tails on jump landings
