MIPS helmets got no swagger

I got a MIPS helmet but, I'm out here lookin like indiana jones and the crystal dome.
then if it gets a lil breezy, I put my hood over top then I'm lookin like megamind.
Wore it once and switched back to the pro-tec with 8 inch cracks in it.
Fuck lookin like a cartoon character I'de rather be a veggie.

The MIPS sticker is the only thing making the Giro Ledge MIPS different in looks/fit than the Giro Ledge. Had both and currently riding the anti-concussion gang version.

You can get the mips one for 70 on some sites rn got mine for 70 last year off eriks and it has mips i think on the house its like 75 maybe

Dawg. Tf you mean, all mips does is layer up a bunch of bullshit layers with some bullshit compression pseudo science. All them layers make it big a doofy. Look at the noiticeable size increase on tht giro helmet. the first 1 looks like a nice steezy helmet... The second, insta jerry vibes.

It’s because they have to pay to use the tech. MIPS is a Swedish patent/company. Look at BOA. Ever notice how each boa adds like $50 to, say, a snowboard boot? You’re paying for the use of that tech.

Stadium is the only brand I’ve seen put MIPS in generic brand helmets. I would imagine it’s because Stadium is Swedish and one of biggest retailers in Nordics. So they probably have more pull with MIPS/can get it for a better price.

only thing I dont like about my giro mips is theres literally 0 adjustment now I gotta take the liner out and wear a hat underneath basically making the mips useless, all while it still moves around on my head

on my ledge mids the auto tighten thing actually works really well. cant compare to the normal ledge tho

I thought MIPS was basically there to protect your neck since it's all about the inner liner of the helmet being able to turn separately from the shell, not sure how it prevents concussions exactly?

TL;DR they prevent your head from rotating too much which reduces whiplash. Only works if your head makes contact with something.

IMHO there's no Ledge without an adjusting system. Might've been the Emerge or some other soft shell helmet?

yea they still have elastic but they look a lot different in the back I just checked evo and they have some wierd color combos for $60 with mips or without its $34
