I’m trynna buy a capeesh jacket bc they look nice and aren’t horribly expensive. Don’t know anyone who’s bought one but they say they’re DWR coated. Anybody know if they’re waterproof enough to wear on like a wet stormy ski day?

I’d see if being a bit better than like a windbreaker, but they say the shell is a polyester/cotton blend which sounds iffy.
Cotton gets super wet especially on a stormy day

DWR is sweet,,, if you only plan to be out in a storm once or twice. With friction and weathering it will wash away and you can try to Nic-wax or whatever other type of waterproof wash it back on, but it will never match a 2/3 layer goretex or comparable tech fabric. Get it for swag, cop another shell for practicality.

i wore my capeesh jacket in a small rain and i was surprised how hydrophobic it was. only problem with the jacket that i found was that it is double sided so it doesnt breath that well but it doesnt bother me that much. afterall very good jacket and would suggest:)

My jacket is waterproof but its still new and hasn't been washed much so I'm not sure if the waterproof coating they put on it will hold up. I also got a huge rail grease stain on it and I'm afraid if I run it through the wash with harder more solvent soaps it will ruin that coating and make the jackets not waterproof.
