Guy who threw the sub is at fault. Cutting across at 90 degrees from behind the landing without looking.

Uphill skier probably didn’t see him until too late.

Due to all the tracks, I’m sure homeboy was just lapping that one jump. He is definitely at fault, can’t just 90 degree Jerry it across the hill even if you are mad sick at jumps.

it's the uphill skier's job to watch out below. should you not cut across frenetically? yes. should you also be in control enough as the uphill skier to account for stupid moves below? also yes

it's basically like if you're on the highway and the dude in front of you slams on the brakes and you hit him. he's an idiot but at the end of the day you're most likely responsible, you shouldn't have been so close you couldn't react in time to him doing something unpredictable

yes, but you're also supposed responsible and not be obstructed, and certainly not cut in front of people before they have time to react. it's a gray space that can be up for debate. but if the dude was cutting out of nowhere, in front of a jump, it's really his fault.

Technically snowboarder for skiing through a (though seldom used) path at full speed. They’re both experienced enough to know better than cry about it (or sue)

The skier literally does do a quick uphill check, thats why he pops his skis a little bit to get out of the way. 100% is the fault of the dude snowboarding straightlining it down the park with no idea what they're doing...

It also looks like that might be the last jump in the line (are there any ski tracks that don't turn off to the right?) so the dude should have been prepared to look to see if anyone was coming off the landing.

Also...who tf is this skier? That was steezy as fuck

the snowboarder blitzing the park is at fault. He was uphill and had time to see the skiers and did nothing. The snowboarder should have seen the skiers even before this screengrab...

Although, sticking with the driving analogy, if you're crossing a road you don't just start crossing and expect people to slow down or avoid you, you check both ways and drive across when it's safe. Snowboarder was sticking to his lane and skier should have looked to see if anyone was coming and adjusted his speed/heading to avoid the oncoming boarder.

Also that trick was sick.

Honestly both are at fault. Snowboarder should have slowed when he saw them cut in front and skier should have checked before entering the run and adjusted to not be directly in the path of the boarder.

Hot take, the park crew. They should use orange fences to block jumpers from leaving the landing like that while also blocking idiots from skiing into the landing of the jump.

Also no fencing or ropeline preventing people from cutting over couldve helped but also you park rats just love to cut under ropes under jump landings for some reason.

Downhill has right of way. It aint always pretty but it checks out. “Priority” and “right of way” are cringy blamy finger pointing words used by irresponsible city people tho. And safety should be a team effort.
