Farmville420Skiing backwards is not “switch”, it’s fakie.
If anything, spinning unnatural would be “switch”. Nobody’s natural ski stance is backwards you fools.
“frontslide” isn’t a thing, it’s a fast slide.
Truck driver is really called “rocket”.
Im just scratching the surface. What is stopping us from using the right words to describe tricks??? Do people think skiers invented these things and deserve the right to name them? I’m only 25% trolling, it does irk me because its kinda lame to not know the history
If you want to use the "right words" to describe the act, it's called skiing backwards. But no one who regularly skis backwards wants to call it that, so we will stick to borrowing from board sports/action sports world and call it switch, which universally means riding in opposite of your normal stance
Switch means riding in the opposite of your normal stance. So yes, you are correct nobody's natural riding stance is backwards, which means forward is regular, backward is switch
Fakie is not riding in the opposite stance, it has to do with which end of a skateboard you are popping from vs. direction of travel vs. natural stance.
You cant change where you are positioned on skis or a board, therefore makes way more sense to say switch.
Natural (natty), and Unatural (unatty), are some of the only terms that actually make sense in skiing, and you want to change them to some confusing shit related to skateboarding switch?
you really would rather say i did a Fakie Switch 7 versus saying Switch unatty 7
