I have commitment issues buying skis

PBR2-D2I know there are a ton of "which skis should I buy" threads on here but I still feel the need to ask for some help.

Im about to graduate college and am looking for a new set of sticks. I would consider myself a strong skier, growing up east coast I have a substantial park influence but love ripping all-mountain like a playground. spent a month and a half in Big Sky 2 years ago on my 4frnt vandals (whom I love) and they were amazing for early season but were a bit frustrating on deeper days. I loved that ski cause I could ride essentially anywhere on the mountain and have success and am looking for something similar as they now have a couple edge cracks, a sidewall crack, and as many filled core-shots as I have extremities.

I have a trip planned for colorado early feb but other than that will be skiing WV or Penn slopes this season and hope to get around 30 days.

right now I am looking at a few options:
Armada B-Dog (worried too skinny?)
Surface Give'r
mango 100/jeffrey 102 (pricey tho)

PsychicMigrationJeffery 102 would be my go to for all mountain. I find it infinitely better to just own a fat all mountain ski and a pair of park skis so you don’t destroy them in a single season. On3ps don’t ever go on sale so you can think of it as you’d save way more money getting park skis in spring then now and might as well get the on3ps now since they’re always expensive.

SchizoSkierI have both surface givers and Jeffrey 102s. I ski 80% park. Surface givers will take anything you throw at em. Super light, super sick shape and they butter pretty well. Def the most fun pair of skis I’ve ever owned. They were sick on rails but can get kinda sketch on big jump tricks. They’re fun for skiing and buttering around the mountain. These skis are super soft

jeffrey 102s feel like a Trackhawk is the best way I can describe em. They are reaaalllyyy fast and can get kinda hard to finesse sometimes and make quick maneuvers at lower speeds. They’re definitely butterable as long as you have good form. They’re super good on the jumps and I find them to be really good on the rails (I have them center mounted) they feel similar to k2 poachers. These skis are pretty stiff


realistically you can’t go wrong here but I’d take the Jeffrey’s as they’re a more all mountain oriented ski and givers are a pure park ski.

PBR2-D2Really helpful I appreciate it, do yk if there’s a huge difference between this year and last years givers ? The ‘22 model is legit half the price of the Jeffery’s

PBR2-D2All this said I would love to find something that’s a middle ground between the Jeffery and a fully park oriented ski like the givers.


I fully understand that on3ps are worth the price tag but I want to wait till I move out west in a year or two and can fully take advantage, really looking for a 1 ski quiver that can hold me for a season or two.

SchizoSkierI had 2021 givers I think they were the softest model they ever made so the newer ones are a bit stiffer

have you looked into factory finds for on3p?

PsychicMigrationYeah it’s like 100$ but skis are expensive already and most other brands drop 40-50% plus I don’t mind giving a high quality American brand my money.
