CAST on V's

I have casts on a pair of wides, works great. At 1900g/ski it’s not the lightest setup but it’s good enough for me. I know they’re supposed to be a street ski but they actually ski everything else really well

wides even the wide plus isnt really a ski to straight line steep chop, but its still super fun to ski pow with. id recommend it. plus you can ski all the way into the parking lot and its right at home on the asphalt

People can tour on literally anything they want/can get their hands on. My set up is frame bindings on a pair of J Allplays (98 waist, 178). It’s basically a too short for me park ski that I tour on in pow. Gets the job done but isn’t ideal in anyway.

Wide plus’s with cast would be a heavierish set up compared to some but honestly is better than so many combinations of skis and bindings to tour on. I bet they’re fun to ski pow in, heard they’re playful and fun on stuff not steep yet soft.

personally I get more into peoples touring setups when they’re running like a slalom ski with frames or some burly ass heavy kastle’s with pin bindings or something else totally whack that makes no sense.

The wide plus as a touring platform, especially with cast makes sense compared to a lot of things is my point. Kinda goofy but also kinda badass, if you like it then fuck yeah, ski that shit!

Did this same thing, went skinning and then street skiing on my wets and daymakers

Well put. Curious about durability in the park with the extra hardware, but it seems pretty strong.

My coworker has that exact setup. Haven't talked to him much about touring them cause he typically tours on a lighter setup but he rips them in the park. I've toured on everything from bubbas with frames to full carbon skis with ultralight pin bindings and I will say I'd rather strap lead weights to each ski with pins than tour on frames with any ski again. Still won't be a good fit for big days but it'll be fun as hell for short pow laps and accessing stuff you'd have to hike to from the lift.

Been wanting to put tech bindings on a pair of Wet +'s but I feel like it would be a waste of a good park ski if I used a new pair and my beater pair is way too fucked up to tour on.
