Replying to Dynanfit Pin/Tech Heel Gaps
Ayo just wanted to pop on and share some knowledge that I gained today that could be useful to people who have wondered in the past or are still wondering about dynanfit bindings and specificly the heel gap and which one your sopposed to use.
There are 2 different types of gaps that different bindings require to release and function properly.
The heel gap.
This is the standard 5mm gap between the heel tower and the back of the boot. The Heel gap is pretty standard on most full pin/tech bindings. Having a 5mm gap allows for room for the skis to flex and the pins to move in and out of the boot without releasing completely.
Dynanfit bindings that require the 5mm (Heel Gap)
- Lowtech 1 & 2
- Superlite 1 & 2
- Speedturn 1& 2
- Speed Radical
- Radical ST/FT
- Vertical ST/FT
The Kiss Gap.
This is the unorthodox 0.2mm Gap that is only used on a handful of dynanfit bindings. All of these bindings have a heel peice that contains a spring which allows the binding to have forward pressure.
Dynanfit bindings that require the 0.2mm (Kiss Gap)
- Radical 2.0 ST/FT
- Beast 14
- Beast 16
- Rotation 10
- Rotation 12.
Very important to familiarize yourself with your gear especially when you're relying on it to get you back the the parking lot. Safe sliding everyone!!
