I personally think its kind of absurd to make the womens prize pool equal to the mens when we all know the field will likely be about 1/15th of the size. i know most of you will call me a misogynist for this but I do believe your odds of winning the contest are quite relevant in regards to the prize pools of each group...

Of course it would be way more difficult and many more guys in the pool. Making the prize money equal is reasonable but for the trick category and others should probably be representative of the number of people. Either way it’s going to be a fun time hope to see anyone that pops out at bush.

i agree but i also think any female thats into rail skiing whatsoever is already planning on coming out due to the 1/10 odds of winning 4k for a nominal entry fee
I would agree with you only based on what I imagine will be the disproportionally sized fields. However, you have to consider the consequences of having a smaller prize pool for the female riders. It would be a pretty big 'fuck you' to all the women competing. It would basically send the message that even if a female skier pushes herself just as hard (or harder) than any other male skier, she'll get less money for her effort. It would discourage participation while having equal prize pools would encourage it. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I really want to see more inclusivity and diversity in skiing and I think it would be sick to see an event where the fields are similar sizes.

1.) because ive skied in terrain parks before and have used my eyeballs to determine that there are ALWAYS many many many more males than females skiing there. 2.) I dont know they if arent capped but they did not say anything about a timeframe for registration or a cap on participation. 3.) I dont want less females to be there or partake in a ski contest (quite the opposite actaully) , although i can 100% guarantee there will/would be even if the prize for the female pool was 25k.

absolutely nobody is pursuing this sport for financial gain (because there is none unless ur ahall or eileen gu). risk taking behavior is significantly more common amongst young males, leaving more young men likely to get into very dangerous activities like skiing competitively. I apologize that certain things and activities are more attractive to certain demographics, as i know this must hurt you deeply, but there are facts.

If you want it to be a proportionate prize to number of people then it needs to be based on a system where so much money from entry fees go to the prizes. Either way like Dan mentioned cap is probably a good thing and if they both hit cap it should be equal assuming caps are equal.
If they got the money to do so there’s no reason to not have it equal, if ur winnin an L1 rail jam I hope ur ego isn’t too big to where you can’t make the same amount of money as a girl without throwing a piss baby tantrum.

Last rail jam I participated in there was 1 female rider and 40 male.
The female got fucked up on a xl feature on run 2, broke helmet, still won first second and third prize.
this isn't 5 years ago. have you seen all the sick ass girl shredders out there, the community is much more open nowadays and the industry is a lot more inviting to them

I don’t even want to spend my time explaining why this post is so incredibly wrong in every way but for starters, a $4000 cash prize for ladies is going to draw competition and it’s good for the progression of female participation in the sport and core fundamental events, thus expanding the audience and providing somewhat of broader avenue for female athletes to actually get involved in the sport.
Also equal pay for equal play, if you ever took a physics class or went down a YouTube rabbit hole you’d know everything is relative, so those girls throwing lip 2s is the relative equivalent of Jackson karseters 2p8, and that’s why women are in a separate category to begin with.
If you look at that has a mathematical equation, sure your point make sense.
But we’re talking about women’s skiing
it would be nice to have this event with a equal quantity of participation in both categories with an equal cash prices but we might need to put the cash price (money/visibility) in woman skiing first to get there in the near futur
