Pow skis in the Midwest

Ight so the other day I whipped out my fat 117 underfoot Surfaces on my local Midwest hill with a vertical of 300 feet. Felt wack riding a massive pow ski on hard pack but damn was it a blast boosting around swerving children. Hella underrated messin around in the Midwest with fat skis. Unlimited stability!!

Haha. Gotta love fat skis. At the moment my only skis under a 120 waist are on indefinite loan to a co-worker, so I end up riding my fatties on 300 feet of midwest vert every time I go home to visit my parents in Cincinnati. I love getting the, "What are those?!" comments from all the groms after you blast down a run and throw a big, floaty 180 or 360.

yesss dude. I just sold my surface balances(121) but those were always such a blast ripping them around midwest ice.. a lot of people at the hills around here have never seen skis like that and they go crazy for it

Riding pow skis on Midwest hard pack shit is valid, the fatter the ski the more fun so idk why it’s rare to see lol

I used to rock Surface Life Life's and my friend rocked Hellbents in Saskatchewan. Then I upgraded to Surface New Life's and he switched to Surface Lab 001's. We're both in Alberta now, but ridiculous skis in the prairies is pretty much the most fun you can have on skis.

I miss my New Life's so much, though. They held an edge way better than any 120 waisted ski has any right to. They also had ridiculous rocker and shot rooster tails behind me like a jet ski.

I still have a pair of the Anthony B model New Lifes and bring them out once a year or so. They were my first pair of fatties. I'll ride them until they explode.

Anything fatter than 100 underfoot in the Midwest is gigantic lol. Automatically the sickest skier on the mountain sliding across ice with some 112s

I rock the K2 Hellbents (132 underfoot) on hard pack and it’s the best. They are so soft and they boost off of everything.
