This year is seems like every company is doing some boring ass topsheets with no art or pattern or anything. Just saw this new surface royale and it’s literally just a white topsheet with “surface” written once on it
surface used to make some fire ass graphics look at the same ski but from 2 years ago
All I’m sayin is a ton of brands are switching to this minimalistic style but I think it’s gonna start to make skiing kinda bland.
Jemsi prefer minimalism over shitstorm graphics that you can’t tell what’s going on. they’re especially better than a lot of graphics from 2010-2020ish.
Hellbents are the best and most disgusting graphics ever
The understated skull and bird is kinda cool. Just hard to see in tiny pics on the internet. It takes a lot of time to design an intricate graphic that has mass appeal and works on a ski, hence added expense.
I mean yeah but there’s a difference between minimalistic graphics and just bland graphics. Like the gen 1 and 2 of the forbidden skis looked clean and minimal but the new factions and surfaces just look boring.

Concrete is the coolest top sheet graphic I have ever seen. Can we get some similar ones @VISHNU ? Maybe an asphalt and a dirt one! Tile would be sick and linoleum floors just look the coolest
Surface doing very simple top sheets is nothing new. I feel like they've had a "just logo" top sheet in their line most years since like 2010. Sure, plenty of brands are going minimalist this year, just like a few years ago when everybody and their mom was doing stripes. Trends ebb and flow.

First that's the upper. They do have some artwork/printwork on them but they're done in grey which doesn't really show up very well because of the light on light contrast. IMO i enjoy artwork on skis, surface is still doing that even tho it may be a bit more basic then in years past. 2020 and 2021 give'r will be a fav...murdered out

That’s the simplest design they had this year the rest are dope did u see attilas those are awesome but I honestly fw the simple shit it’s clean

No commentary on the industry wide trends (I think you’ll find a bit of everything these days), but there’s more going on with those Surface skis than just white with a logo. There’s either very light grey or more likely gloss white/matte white graphics if you look close. Recolored the photo a bit so you can see them better.

Real quick wdym gen 1 and 2 skis that shall not be named, because I see the blues as gen 3 but there’s the OG jets and what else? The white limited editions with the faces?

Gen 1 had the smiley just on the front, gen 2 had them on the tail and tip. Also yeah I’m tryna find a mod that will change it back to SchizoSkier. I tore both ACLs but I still wanna throw a dub back and maybe a sw dub 9 or dub 10 this season but it’s kinda hard to find motivation to ski hard and throw crazy stuff when my knees are killin me

Yup, its talk of the industry right now. From the rookies to the core, no one is finding a ski that makes them go “this one is mine!”. Its sad, topsheet design is the #1 thing people lean on for buying new skis. And companies know this, idk why the reverse psychology.
skiers: this ski's graphics don't look like something made by a schizophrenic and they can't be seen from 100 nautical miles away. wtf were they thinking??
I actually like this style. Looks kinda boring on a wall but awesome on your feet when you're geared up. Overly loud graphics can be the opposite, kinda hard to match with your kit or even bindings but they look great of a ski shop wall.
