Today was an all time shit vail resort experience

Busy pow day in Tahoe. Was tailed by a Yellowjacket for ducking a rope to shortcut a busy turn on a groomer. Guy couldn’t care less about my reasoning and insisted on taking a picture of my pass or calling mtn security. Gave him a hard time and shit talked the resort a little before reluctantly letting him take it and skiing off. Checked my email just now to find a 4 week suspension. Same shit I dealt wi th last year for skiing backwards on a “family run” . Why the fuck do I buy this pass god I’m an idiot. Fuck you rob Katz

95% of the time people whine about getting passes taken it's because they either deliberately broke a clmoutain rule like jumping rope or they were dicking around on the token family run. I very rarely feel bad for people on these things.

Ducked a rope, got caught, stopped to deal with person, csme out swinging talking shit, gave dude pass, "Wtf man I got a suspension?!?!?!?"

First places can take your pass for ducking ropes regardless of the reason. If you're going to duck ropes and get caught, or honestly do anything and get caught worst thing you can do is come out being a dick. I don't understand how people can't understand this.

Might be good to take a life lesson away from this. If you have to deal with people, especially in a situation where you did something against the rules, don't be a dick.

Even in parks people have ducked ropes while cats park is being rebuilt, crew is setting features, cats ate working, maybe even winch cats. You stop them because you don't want to kill them with your cat, and they start yelling at you out of the gate.

Idk, just not a good starting point. Hell if you ever get pulled over for speeding in your car start yelling at the dude about how you were fine, speed limits are trash, cops are trash, and see how well it works.

Idk ducking ropes is a no go. Kissing ass isn't the same as not being a prick.

If you come out swinging for no reason you're going to have a bad time. Looks like lesson not learned. In life you're going to have to deal with people. If you aren't a dick to people they're shockingly more likely to work with you.

If you feel like you were wronged you can stay with that and be angry but same kind of things will keep happening. Not sure what to tell you. It sucks to lose your pass but you could have handled the situation way better.

Problem with Heavenly is that half the mountain funnels down to a choke and there's no way to ski out. Basically if you get stopped on the California side you're screwed.

there's a difference between ass kissing or dick riding and being polite and respectful, not that ass kissing isn't worth not getting a 4 week suspension, i mean, why the hell would you do that? all that happens now is that you can't ski at vail for 4 weeks and you probably ruined someone's day.

You couldn't just ski around the end of the ropeline and the boo, sidestep or hike up, traverse, and then go to your destination? Like yeah I get what you mean, I've been guilty of doing that but doing in plain sight is just dumbfuck stuff. Also arguing too. Just be polite and take the L, man. Idk what video you’re talking about but there was literally a collision at palisades last year that killed a teenager, and both skiers involved were both “good skiers” per say so idk, it happens way too often and it’s so preventable

Wait I know that video? I thought he shot it or something and it was like a hunting thing, but yeah exactly skiing that fast can kill people if u collide.

The Tahoe incident was a collision on a normal run if I remover correctly, a freestyle ski team kid and a backcountry team kid both hit each other and one of em died. Super sad shit.

if you have to go 50mph to feel some adrenaline you should just go on a harder run.

I would have played it cool talked him up and at the end asked what was gonna happen. If suspended I would have give him tons of shit especially if there was no warnings before. The other thing I would probably do would be to not buy an epic pass.

East coast is a bit different and following rules on a few packed icy runs is kinda annoying, but ropes actually mean something in the west a lot of the time, and you could literally die if you duck them. There's a lot of trails out west, don't ski fast on flat runs with slow signs, don't duck ropes, and you'll be just fine. This kid FAFO'd, very low sympathy. Listen to the abortionator, he's right...respect your NS elders, take their advice, and maybe y'all will learn somethin
