Can you send a cork 7 without doing a straight 7

I know I made a few posts in the other cork 7 thread a couple days ago but didn’t get quite as many responses as I was hoping for. Basically, I have cork 7s locked down on tramp and can play around with grabs, height and speed and axis. I can do them both ways on tramp. I can even do them into a pool from the wall. However I’ve never done a straight 720 on skis. I can cork 5, underflip, flat 5, straight 5, misty 5, all with multiple different grabs on snow. I was told in the other thread to just take the extra run to do the straight 7, but I literally would feel more comfortable just sending the cork 7. If any of u have had a similar scenario or have advice feel free to drop it. My progression is also weird, as I learned backflips before 360s and underflips before 540s so i feel more comfortable off axis than straight spinning.

I learned cork 7s first and I still can’t do straight 7s. It’s definitely easier

If you think you have it and don't want to do a straight 7 first just throw the damn cork. Stop making stupid threads about it.

learning straight sevens will help ya with skiing in general (630 off rails, etc), but you can learn cork first for sure... and lets be honest, once you have cork sev, I dont think your gonna wanna throw pencil sev instead.

you said you have done underflip. set it like a underflip, with more spin and slighlty less flip. The flip/cork part of your rotation should come at the end of first rotation/start of second.

Some people learn in different ways, the safest and in my personal experience best way of learning how to cork seven was to learn a regular seven and get comfortable doing that, then going for the cork. I also see so many people setting corks the wrong way because they just want to throw it and see if they get lucky which can be extremely dangerous that's why I think it is the safest to go through the progressions of learning, because being able to ski longer and not get injured is the most important thing.

If you are comfortable with the axis just do it, the only benefit of doing a straight seven first is to get a feel for how much air time you have to get a seven around.

Just try the cork first if you wanna. I did the strait 7 first but i dont think they feel like similar tricks when you do them.

I haven’t thrown a seven in years. Honestly just huck rodeo if ur scared it’s literally the easiest axis ever and it’s not sketch at all.

Ive thrown upright 10s but never done a cork, it’s a sketch ass axis even if it’s easy too

Straight up 7 is definitively just a weird trick to throw. It always feel like it takes more effort than its worth. If you think you're ready than just go for it, as long as you can clear your mind and rely on muscle memory you'll be fine.

Im same boat as you OP. I’ve never even tried an upright sev on a park jump that seems sketch af, but i’ve done them by accident by trying to cork 7 and messing up. Just go for the cork tbh

I find upright 7's harder but don't think I could've learned cork 7 without doing upright first.

honestly dawg I can cork 12 on tramp and can't cork 7 on skis, so basically with that meh form on tramp, ur doomed give up.
