Wide or wide plus

I’ve already got wets that use strictly park and street, but I’m gonna get wides to replace my pow skis for something a little more all mountainy.




do y’all think that I’d be better off on pluses for a ski I plan on using for about 50-50 park and mid grade pow?

I usually ski a shorter ski tho(5’8” and usually rock 170-179”) so I’m wary on getting something stiffer as the softness kinda balances the extra length out. but honestly i think I’d be good cuz it’s a rockered ski anyways and 4 extra millimeters from what I’m used to shouldn’t matter much

Emmett says that normal wides are for “skiers who ski pow sometimes” so yeah 50/50 I’d say get regular wides especially if you like how the wets feel in the park.

I had Wets for several years and then got some Wides.
The Wides fully replaced my Wets in the park and street, and also became my powder ski, replacing my K2 Hellbents.
You can't go wrong with a pair of Vishnu Wides

I know this information is allready on here somewhere but would you say the wides have a similar quick on rail and easy to spin feel like the wets? Also does a wider ski feel weird sliding through a kink?

They're exactly like the Wets, a little more stiff but they're just as quick and easy to spin on, I know they're not the same weight, but with the same bindings on each set they feel damn near the same.. too little to notice unless you bust out a scale.
As for feel on a kink, I'm sure it'll take some time to adjust but they're all I've known for the last 3 seasons so it feels normal, the width difference ain't too much

Switching from Wets to Hellbents or vice-versa within the same day was a whacky experience, I couldn't keep doing it and the Wide seemed like a solid compromise

I got my wets pretty near the end of the season last year and I don't think I ended up getting back on my Balances after, so ive been low-key nervous cuz I know im goin from one end of the spectrum to the other 88 to 121 is a crazy switch

100ish wide skis don't really feel different on rails it's not until 115 and up they start to feel real clunky

ok im boutta cop wide plus I think.

I thought about it, and if I already have wets for the park, I wanna have something a bit stiffer for skiing sidecountry and having more stability when sending cliffs and hucking so I think that plus is the move and will give me a lot more pop and responsiveness when it comes to deeper snow too

also I like the purple

yeah go wide plus. i have the wide plus and imo its better for that kinda stuff you wanna do. its not insanely stiff or anything, but being a lil stiffer makes riding through chop or slush a little easier

Got plusses, mounted today but I was at work so couldn’t ride, put them on and buttered around at the bottom of the lift and they felt real nice! Not too stiff at all, like a perfect flex for what I want them for

Shit bro I went out today on them and they are amazing. At first I felt like they were too stiff since I was coming from very broken in Wets, but after I took a few runs and unlocked the finesse I was having so much fun on them. They are like the perfect amount of softness for being a sort of all conditions park ski/sidecountry ski. Very very playful and energetic ski and super lightweight too, also feel so good on rails and stuff as well. Excited to try them in deep snow

Fr, I never heard anything until I saw somebody with them at my hill and I asked… but I had already bought at that point. Wide plus is the most underrated Vishnu ski imo

Also they fucking charge over anything. I was absolutely rippin thru man made snow/ice chunks and they felt so solid

very good feeling on jumps too

would you put them above regular wides for a small midwest hill? or just stick with normal wides?

If you already have a pair of wets or other soft skis yeah definitely go plus. But if you are lookin for a one ski quiver and plan on just staying on small Midwest hill I’d probably go normal wides Unless u like a stiffer ski

Yeah i think having one stiffer ski and one softer ski is a solid quiver but I meaaan, how often do you travel to ski elsewhere?

its the only place ive ever gone, but the season after this one my dad is getting one of those multi-mountain passes and ill be able to drive so they might be worth it for next season

Honestly regular wide might be the move if u want soft and primary are just on that hill

More word on the plus: got about 6 inches of wet heavy snow last night and I went out skiing all day today in chunderry/heavy fresh stuff. These skis were so much fun, felt so stable on the chop and snowboard brake bumps. Super good in tight trees and they float on top of the snow very well. Still super playful and lightweight even in heavy ass snow! I love them an recommend them to anybody. They blow my old pow boards out of the water completely

no matter the weather, @VISHNU forever.

These skis were the best financial decision of the year
