bootspacego to goodwill, i found a marmot goretex jacket in amazing condition for a dollar
WGalinskiAre you serious or was this 2 years ago? I thrift all the time, even when I’m traveling and you’re lucky to find a used hockey puck for $1 at goodwill nowadays… Big name donation centers have been blowing up since 2020 and unfortunately their prices have caught up with it.
If you can find what works, thrifting gear is the way to go for softgoods knowing how easily they can be wrecked (grease drips, sticks, rocks). I rocked a thrifted kit for the past 4 seasons, but in the past two years I havent scored once which forced me to buy new this year. Found some good deals on a summer sale, but that alone was 25x more expensive than the threads that pushed me through 70+ ski days with no issues…
