How come NS makes my computer run really hot?

So most of the time when I'm browsing the web or watching videos, etc, my machine idles around 35-40C and might jump up to 50-60C or something if Im watching a 4k video or running a dozen tabs... rarely does it exceed 70C.

However, NS? for whatever reason? Well.. right now it's jumping between 70 and 80C as if I was doing some really intense gaming or some shit. Right now, i's struggling to stay below 73 as I type this out.. This is the only site I have ever seen this happen with.

Anyone know a reason? Is NS really just... that intense?

Using chrome?

Chrome is a ram hog, NS is a pretty efficient website, unless your computer is from 2005.

Yes, using chrome on a 4 year old machine.

I just find it really weird that NS does this, but yeah. Ill try out the fox and see how that goes.

It's likely an issue on your end, whatever the issue is, maybe you got some Japanese spyware lol

Running it in Firefox or Safari seems to be a LOT better for some reason.. some 30-40C cooler than in chrome. I'm getting 38-43C, which is about what I would normally expect for simple browsing, and is just a little over it's idle temp. Its safe to say that the browser change really does make a difference in this case.

Still, it's very strange that Chrome + NS caused that much of a difference... I know chrome is a generally a more demanding browser, but 30-40 degrees? for a forum site? Reddit never did this, nor did my website. Hell, Lightroom operates at around 55-60 if I'm editing anything.

It's already weird as hell that NS was the only website Iver ever found to do such a thing in the first place. I had to like, full blast my fans just to keep it from overheating!
