Have You Ever Caused a Chairlift to Stop?

If your answer is yes, how did it happen?

Sometimes (especially in the midwest and southeast) it blows my mind how many times the chair can stop during a ride up. What the hell is going on back there?

LucasjI tried snowboarding…. never again.
I feel that accept our lift was a tbar, and they didn't stop it for shit. If you got taken downs you moved out of the way or you'd get ran the fuck over. Def an "interesting" way to learn. Also one of the steepest headwalls on the mtn(not crazy) the tbar line went up. People would eat all the shit there.

Good times. First day of snowboarding went so well I skied solely the next 2 weeks.

Learned to ski when I was 20 last year and totally just forgot how to get off the lift at the top. Was super embarrassing, I made it around the whole turn b4 the lift stopped, and my bfs friend told me to jump sarcastically and I didn’t catch that and totally just jumped off landing on my skis proceeding to pop out of them in front of about 30 people.

Only time was when my backpack strap got caught in the crease of the chair at A Basin and ripped it right outta my hands. Thank God it was unstrapped. Also thanks 1000000x to the lifty who had to go out in the zero visibility storm with high winds to unhook it.

Now not only make sure to unstrap but also ensure the dangling parts are not caught up in anything.

I didn't start skiing til I was 10 so I guess I didn't get to join the club of being slow on/off a lift.

i was heading to a two person chair and had already crossed the red line when two boneheads came around me to take the chair and i ended up getting smacked by it.

and then the liftie chick had the audacity to talk shit about me

did some bad math once on a pow day, tried to put myself and my GF on a quad that had 3 people on it already. Lost both my skis, fell over, stood there like an idiot until the liftie told me to put my skis back on and got on the lift again.

I usually do my signature funny prank, when I get to the top station I make a goofy face at the lifty then jam my pole between the bowl wheel and the rope, derails the whole lift hahaha its hilarious. Then I ski away really quick while blowing a raspberry at the slow patrollers.

Guitar George and I made the lift stop today. We were bouncing up and down till the lifty stopped it for safety reasons.
