Sometimes (especially in the midwest and southeast) it blows my mind how many times the chair can stop during a ride up. What the hell is going on back there?
One time I just wanted to see if they would let me ride back down so I just didn't get off. I made it around the turn but I guess they don't let 5 years olds download alone
I fell on the unload ramp when I was a kid and got run over by about 5 chairs before the lifty noticed.
My buddy got his pole stuck in the chair as it went around the bull wheel. He went around with it, tripped the stop gate and broke his pole in the process.

I'd put the blame like 75% or more on new snowboarders having 0 control when they get off the lift
The chair broke right as I was going to get on. They used the back up generator to get everyone off. It was last day at my local, and they pulled us up with a long rope attached to the cat. Very legendary last day for sure.
I remember riding the chairlift in Åre and it was much wind and and it stopped many times and when we got out of the chairlift they stopped again and said in the speaker that they had to evacuate the lift. We skied away to other slope so didnt see how they did it i wonder if they had to go down with a rope like Stig Helmer or something.
i personally don't remember i time i did but ive had a lot of buddies do dumbass shit on the chair and cause it to stop, including getting a ski stuck in a wooden panel in front of the loading area and it causing him to do a complete front flip out of the seat and get smacked in the head by the chair
At my local hill in Wisconsin (they have 200 vert) they get a lot of noobs and I can guarantee you, that you won't make it up the lift without it stopping or slowing down to like 2 mph.
They will judge you and your friends if you are good or not and slow the lift sometimes and it pisses me off. My friend fell in the pit of water under the lift because it was his time in a while
My dumbass dropped a pole once. No pole straps make it too easy sometimes…
also me and the homies were so fucking fried one day we tried to load 4 people on a triple and didn’t even realize till the liftie stopped the lift lmao
I remember my freshman year of college I joined the CU Freeride program. On the first day up we were all stoked and everyone kind of had this edge to prove themselves as skiers since we were all on snow the first time. Anyway, we walked from the parking lot up to Copper and got our gear together. Literally the first lift up on the base lift of Copper I was not paying attention as the chair swung around and I got straight taken out and put on my face. They had to shut the lift down and everything and even the coaches kind of gave me this 'WTF are you doing here" look. Shit sucked for sure but it was something to laugh about the rest of the season.
You didn't grow up skiing in the Midwest unless you and your dumbass prepubescent park rat friends fucked around loading and unloading the lift. Stopped too many lifts to count.
NGL this has happened to me and it's uncomfortable ASF and he tried to have a conversation and I just tried to show I wasn't interested but he wouldn't stop like idgaf about how the snow is at my 200ft hill

They got a line of 3 smaller jumps and a bunch of corrugated tubes and like one of each type of rail A frame z rail c rail tube dfd
It's only got one "big" jump it's also a bit of a snowboarding park ran by some kids but there setups not bad

Only time I know of was when I was like 4 and intentionally jumped off like 20 feet early cause I wanted to land in the powder. I don't remember it but my dad told me about it.

Was getting on a fixed three seater with two buddies, some tourist tried to squeez in because why would any resort dare have a lift that’s not at least a quad. I was stuck in the middle and got squeezed out into the net. I generally keep my cool around clueless people, but this time I was proper PO’d.
On a powder day, lots of soft snow on the edge of the loading ramp as I was getting on, caught my tip in it somehow, then slowly and awkwardly got somersaulted off the chair in a daffy position.
Two winters ago I was sitting on the chair and took my mask off to adjust my goggles. The guy stopped it as our feet were coming off the ground and screamed at us... with no mask on, for a while telling us to put ours on.
We ended up getting chased to the parking lot. So shout out to the Camp Fortune lifties

Last year I had brand new Vinny gs and I was simply amazed at how soft they were because I had poachers the year before which was also my first year.
I was bored and skiing alone so nobody there was like dude that's stupid.
So the sign that says "keep tips up" I put my tip down to see if my wets would flex back out of the hole but it pulled me straight off the lift.

seriuosly though whoever that was needs to be institutionalized
yeah I was like 14 and I was getting off of Explorer chair at Brighton with my sister and tried removing my poles from under my leg too early and literally bent them as I got off which caused me to fall into the bullwheel pit.
When I was really little my ski fell off right after I got on the lift and for whatever reason my gut reaction was to jump after it.
One time a roommate of mine sat in my seat instead of his when we loaded so I was on my hip and halfway on the seat and fell off right after it started.
I also caught the tip of my ski one day because I wasnt paying attention and was stoned.
Tbf while I am the problem atleast Im falling off the lift in ways that entertain the liftys. Instead of just the basic fall while unloading I add some style into it.
