Help - Sugar Mountain Vs Beech (North Carolina Resorts)

Non-skier/snowboarding friends (12 or so) want to take a trip to Ashville and ski for a day while we're out there. Haven't been to Sugar or Beech but it's between those two spots.

Need to know which resort would be best for our trip. Any suggestions?

It's a group of people renting that probably don't even own winter gloves so the finer details won't matter. Just trying to avoid long lift/rental lines and shitty runs.

Beech has faster lifts. Better option. They both are old resorts with a lot of jerries and a lot of character. Have fun!

^ This, Beech has spent the past few years upgrading everything and I have become a huge fan of what they've been able to accomplish. If you end up at Sugar you will still have fun though. If you want to ride park you will want to go to Appalachian, the skiing doesn't compare but their parks are elite.

all resorts are full of tourists here in NC I would hit beech if you want to make some turns but also hit a park setup. App has a dank ass park but it might be 300 feet... stay clear of Cataloochee.

definitely hit NC on a weekday or u are fucked

Also, sugar is a shit show with passes and rentals since they don't do online tickets. Beech is your best option if your homies don't ride often and you could still sneak a couple of park laps.

Will be checking out App for sure on my own. Do they have a jump line? Have you been there recently?

Yea, they typically have 3 parks, one being a 2-3 hit jump line, rail park, and beginner park. There are also a ton of incredible riders that have come out of there and are there
