I've been looking for a new pair of skis and the ones Im pretty sure I've decided on are the Fatypus BUs. They have a 104 underfoot and I was wondering if that would be too wide for a park ski? I don't want a ski only for park but that is where I spend most of my time especially on rails but I do like to go everywhere else. The other ski I'm looking at is the Icelantic Nomad 95.

Nah 104 is definitely not too wide for a park ski. It’s not ideal for rails but still very usable

if you're looking at a park ski from Fatypus, maybe the L toro would be a better option for you? Adam Delorme used to ride those and they definitely looked way too fun.

I was looking at those but decided I wanted skis that were more buttery and the BUs fit that but the only thing i'm worried about is there width for rails. I've heard they dont feel like a wider ski because theyre relatively light but on rails im still unsure if it will make too big of a difference. My last skis were the Line Chronics which has a 95 underfoot.

I don't know the specs exactly, but I can promise you that the L-toro is more than butterable, based on Delorme's riding style which is maybe the most buttery in the history of the sport.

BigPurpleSkiSuitI don't know the specs exactly, but I can promise you that the L-toro is more than butterable, based on Delorme's riding style which is maybe the most buttery in the history of the sport.

ill have to look more into the differences. These are the dimensions of the BUs, 118/127/104/122/111 and they have a bit more of an early rise.

Can recommend the Fat-ypus L-toro in the standard flex for buttering 10/10. If you're looking between the BU and the L-toro but want more of a park-focused ski I would definitely go with the L-toro. Fat-ypus's 5-point skis are outstanding all-mountain skis and I ride my M5s in the park on occasion but the L-toro is just crazy light and nimble in the park.

I'll send him an email. They sell them at my local ski shop and I've been talking to them about the differences so next time I go in I'll make my final decision. The BUs have a different more textured top sheet then the ltoros which makes them more durable which is nice but I just have to decide between the two.

if you got the will and power a wider ski in park will be a blast. i had kartel 108 as my main parkski for over a season. loved it! even though the ski is stupid heavy, long and wide. it did limit me sometimes from swapping quicker, but you will be more stable on a wider platform. railing with wider skis feels sick imo

anything from on3p is super cool. i have tried the old magnus 102, feels super lively and fun. still a stiffer ski so it holds up well at speeds

Did the earlier rise on the on3p make it easy to butter even though it's a bit stiffer?
