"I'm not a Fucking Muslim I'm Sunni!"
"I'm not Fucking Jewish! I'm Haredi!"
"I'm not Fucking Buddhist! I'm Mahayana!"
if you believe in Jesus Christ being the son of God, you're a Christian. Whether or not you utilize a crucifix, do the sign of the cross, believe in the Virgin Mary, read the bible, etc.. youre as much a Christian if you go to a Catholic church or an Evangelical church.
In fact, as a Catholic Christian, youre doing yourself a disservice by claiming youre not a Christian - WASP churches have sewn this bullshit into the American lexicon that Protestants are the only "Christians" and "Catholics" are something else entirely, when there can be nothing further from the truth.
VTshredder69Fuck it all dude. Libertarians or death
SteezyYeeteri was joking...
also only Catholics believe in the Virgin Mary but i'll let it slide
theLiquorGonna find common ground—i also think feminism is self-oppressive to women as well. All i ever hear from feminism is how women can’t do this or that cuz chauvinism or whatever. Some people have a competitive spirit and are gonna do something just because you said they can’t so this attitude works great for them, but keep in mind how many also have the polar opposite personality. Most of us ski park and have experienced—if you doubt yourself coming into a jump or rail, you’re gonna fail. If you visualize yourself making it and having confidence—you succeed.
even though Kamala has the biggest head start being VP in current admin, I still hold the belief the first woman president will be a republican. Al Gore was the last VP to make a successful attempt at VP and he lost cuz of “hanging chads”. But if Kamala runs and loses, you absolutely know the narrative will be because “she lost because she’s a woman”. Such self-marginalizing bullshit from the left. There are so many female governors in office in red states, but for some reason we keep hearing how the right marginalizes women. Idk, seems like the right elects women because they’re the best candidate. Too often when i see women running on the left, it feels more about a pity vote for the women cuz if you don’t vote for someone like Kamala or Hillary, you’re clearly a chauvinistic pig—nothing to do with policy of course…
r00kieThe vast majority of protestants adhear to the virgin birth doctrine, where they differ is Catholics believe the Virgin Mary as the ability to intercede in prayers for the people.
theLiquorBut I’ve heard Kamala and Hillary both say—their own words—blaming losses on misogyny.
PacificRimJobYikes, I don't know where youre building your opinions from but it seems a bit backwards.. This seems like a conservative media talking point to me, as I have heard this sorta thing stated by conservative pundits for a while now. This claim that feminism somehow cries about how women aren't being elected simply because theyre women is old-hat and incorrect. Not to mention, feminists would laugh this notion out of the room.
There are people in the media who have made some bullshit claims like "maybe voters didnt vote for her because they dont see a woman as able president - blah blah" but that is not feminism and they are not feminists. Do not conflate the two as being one in the same lol."
theLiquorBut I’ve heard Kamala and Hillary both say—their own words—blaming losses on misogyny. So maybe purely blaming feminism isn’t accurate, just saying I don’t hear losing republican candidates blaming their losses on being a woman (you just call it a stolen election now). And I completely agree with you the negative issues about Hillary and Kamala—and that’s what’s upsetting to me—hearing a leader blaming their own gender rather than self reflection where they went wrong. That’s not the quality of a leader, neither is claming election fraud
I disagree that dems picked Kamala as VP to appease the progressives—if they did that they woulda gone with Warren or Sanders. Biden and Kamala IMO are moderate politicians, and that’s why I like them and think they were the ideal ticket to get swing voters and beat Trump. I caucused for Sanders in 2015/16, but had it been Sanders or Warren vs Trump in 2020 I do think we may be in our second term of Trump. You can’t win swing voters with far left candidates.
if GOP can shake off their Trump and election denial reputation, I think democrats are in huge trouble for 2024. At least not as big of trouble had they lost midterms as much as feared
SteezyYeeterYou can't just say they're not feminists for the purpose of the conversation
SteezyYeeteronly Catholics believe in the Virgin Mary but i'll let it slide
PacificRimJobWarren or Sanders would have also been good picks for various reasons, but who's to say either of them even wanted that spot? Besides... both are quite old, and the biggest thing going against Biden is his age. It's why there's even a question of him running in 2 years. The Democrats are trying to create a rising star in Kamala. You saw the same thing when Romney picked Ryan as his running mate.
When did Kamala ever even lose an election? She absolutely fucking CRUISED in California when she ran for Senate, and even then her opponent was another Democrat AND a woman. Do you mean the primary? I don't recall there ever being a time where she blamed her primary loss on her gender.
Hillary on the other hand - I don't believe there was ever a quote where she blamed the election on her gender at all... She might have criticized your uneducated white male midwest voter, but I dont recall a time where she ever cried "you just didnt vote for me because I have a vag" or something silly.

Desantis is going to need to both present himself as the anti-trump, while simultaneously courting Trump's base. That's not easy. Trump is now like a NASCAR driver... and people don't just change the flags on their RV all willy nilly... Even if some people like multiple drivers, there's always some who only come out to raise hell & praise Dale.
I don't foresee Trump just handing DeSantis the reigns... You gotta remember - he's not doing it for the Republican party, and he doesn't even necessarily care about them - he demands loyalty and subjugation to himself, and his own brand.
Theres always the question if Desantis wins the 24 primary and Trump decides to tank the GOP for turning on him by running as an Independent. If that happens, the GOP is fucked and the Democrats would absolutely fucking landslide like they did in 1992 and 1996. Even if Trump only somehow carries 5-10% of the popular vote, the GOP would get it's asses handed to it. Then Trump could go out and say "should have done as I said and chose me". Remember - everything Trump touches dies like a Casino in Atlantic City.
The GOP is going to be hard pressed to get beyond the trump stuff, but I absolutely agree that if they revert to a Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan type GOP ticket, they will be in a good position to win in 2024... That kind of candidate would do well in the rust belt and Arizona. The Democrats have a tough choice for a candidate no matter what goes down for 2024. They'll have an even more difficult time with the senate map forcing them to defend a shitload of states with few real options for gains - including both Sinema and Mancin who are super unpopular among democrats. Arizona is almost a surefire pickup for Republicans unless D's can primary Sinema out for someone better. Tester is going to be in for a fight in Montana, but that state is a bit weird as it often sends democrats to Helena and Washington while always voting for a Republican president.
Even if a Democrat wins the presidency in 2024, theyre gonna have a difficult time with appointments for their whole presidency - the 2026 senate map isn't much better.
SteezyYeeterthis is what almost every leftist ideology does. if for some reason they don't succeed, the only reason could be of some complex system designed to oppress them. what you said, black people (or rather white people talking for black people) blaming everything on racism, a gay romance movie not doing well is due to homophobism
PacificRimJobLol. nothing about leftist ideology does this. Take a political science course for god sakes.
Also why do you keep bringing up movies lol.
theLiquorYes, Harris in the primaries. But she did lose to Hillary, not saying she made a massive deal about it she’s pretty level IMO but definitely did vent some gender-based frustrations. Google either Hillary or Kamala lost because woman you will find it quickly. Hell, “Hillary Clinton blames election loss on sexism during UK book tour (Reuters)” is like first thing.
Ryan—man I despised that guy, but in hindsight he was actually one of the last good Republicans.
Interesting take on Trump running as (I). When you put it that way, seems like the best option is just let him push aside all his court cases and subpoenas and let him run. Obviously he’s guilty of beyond-serious treasonous crimes, but if the left wants to keep temporarily dismembering the right, that’s probably the best option.
eheathhes a kid, he doesnt even drive to the ski hill lol
SteezyYeeterlol yeah i mean... i guess i'll be transparent, i am 16. don't want u to think ur talking to an adult. i guess maybe i'll stick to "ski gabber" for a bit.
