4 Mounts ???

bought some 2013 pettitors online for 100$, great condition, practically new......only problem *god knows why* is that they have been re-mounted 3 times. i did not know this upon purchasing .....

anyways, the general consensus i hear nowadays is that 3 mounts is the max one should generally go with.

ive spent my money, im gonna mount them regardless for the 4th time, how should i expect the ski to perform.

the three mount max on a ski is a total myth. As long as your holes are about 1cm away from the previous holes, you'll be fine. You might need to epoxy in some helicoils if the holes don't quite line up; but I've mounted skis with 6+ mounts. Where there is a will, there is a way.

cool cool. The previous mounts are def not 1cm apart lol. will make a note of that tho when remounting

u think i'll be fine skiing these pretty hard? dropping 30 footers and what not

I'd epoxy a wooden dowl into all the previous holes and cut it flush with the topsheet just because I'm paranoid like that, but either way you should be alright.

You might as well try but keep some extra planks in the whip in case you snap em. I snapped a ski catching a tranny weird off a wall ride last year and when I took the binding off I could see the snap started at the old holes behind my bindings.

im not skiing park on these but yah, im worried about all the holes causing my ski to snap, especially cuz im going with a smaller boot size / more towards center mount. lots of drilling behind my heels...

You should be okay then. Honestly just don’t go off any weird trannies real hard. I was purposely stomping it all day and the ski finally snapped. Maybe you could snap it by landing and riding out tail heavy but it’s worth a shot forsure.

I think its more important that the mount holes aren't close than how many holes there are. But definitely get those sealed up tight, water will destroy the core if you don't

As long as the other holes are filled. 1cm is kind of the “golden rule” but you can get away with closer. I wouldn’t be as worried about cracking the ski. It’s my understanding that it’s really more about the purchase that the screw can get on the ski with hole spacing,

bought them second hand so not sure. you can see in the photo. the tips and tails are quite soft, so they washed out whenever i would hit cliffs. i could manual effortlessly. so i ended up mounting them again at -3 with pivots. have not tried them in something deeper than boot deep with new mount. but they feel more right that way.
they are a freestyle pow ski so i think the closer to center mount is more right. but don't go center.

lol, friend of mine did that on a 2014 model in a 179. was his dork around shallow pow ski. he loved it, but felt a bit unbalanced for any charging imo

I've got 7 mounts in a pair of k2 pinnacle 118. It helps that it's a solid stiff ski, but I wouldn't stress it. Use a drywall screw to pull out the plastic plugs, epoxy some dowel or bbq skewers in the holes and mount however you want. If the holes don't line up nice, throw in a heli coil.

homie was right !

went to 4 different shops, all said the same thing. wont touch them after the 3rd mount

called my local shop from my hometown and they said they'd do it no problem. will have to wait til i go see the fam for thanksgiving to get these mounted. might try and it do it myself, but ive got no experience mounting, surely it cant be that hard right??

i miss living in a small town. Fuck the city and these corporate ass ski shops. so lame
