I’m always F’ing with my buckles getting them dialed in during the first few laps of the day. That’s the con of being a washed up bootfitter in a performance fit. Once they are feeling good I roll the pants back down. Unless you are adjusting your boots, there’s not real logistical reason other than to show off your full tilts I guess
I remember being 14 with skinny snow pants and thinking rolling them up made them look baggier. You’d think people would stop doing it after seeing what it looks like on camera
How else am I supposed to let everyone know I have Full Tilts from 2014?
If your gear is baggy and you're hiking it helps prevent stepping on the cuff of your pants, and it generally prolongs the life of your pants by not slicing up the cuff as easily with your edges.
At least, that's my pea brain logic.
Did this when I was younger because I saw other people do it, so I thought it was a style. I think that's why most people do it. They just see it and think it's a trend in ski fashion. After looking back on the clips when I did that, I realized it looked horrible and haven't done that since. Feel like it's mostly people who are newer to the park scene.
2014 Saga pants on the left, worn 15+ days a season (rolled up)
2013 Saga pants on the right, worn 15+ days a season (not rolled up) It might look funny, but damn, I sure am happy my pants have lasted this long.

It gets a pass if it’s from 2012-2015 in my book for sure
How do people wear sweats and ski? I can't tuck them into my boots, I can't put them over the boots. It looks kooky but sometimes you've got no other option than to bunch them up at the top of the boot, ya know? When you forget any ski pants
Figured I’d chime in since that is indeed me being filmed for @BagOTricks
OP, at least tag me next time, sheesh.
I do this because I hike a lot, usually riding tiny ass hills with 1 or 2 good rails. With pivot binders it saves my pant cuffs from getting too messed up from constantly taking skis on/ off. Also I unstrap my boots on lifts often which makes for easier access to buckles.
But the MAIN reason is to show off my sick Ace of Spade boots which are older than half this thread. Haters gonna hate
My pants are too long so I have to roll them up when I'm walking around and sometimes I forget to roll them back down once my skis are on. I've also been guilty of having only one pant leg rolled down because I got distracted by something in the lift line.
Real talk who else fumbles around trying to get their rolled-up pant legs down on the first lap of the day? I roll mine up for the walk-up to the lift so that I don't get them all nasty and dirty and wear out the cuffs.

my renaissance ass pimp outfit for pulling up to the park only to hike the whole hoe up every time(tuck em Timmies in tight then cuff the boot like a boss)
Racers and jerrys do this, so it's lame either way. Racers don't have the pants to cover the boots, and if they tried to with their leggings it would look goofy lol. I don't know why jerrys do it besides it looks stupid and that's what they do. Keeping them down traps heat in as well, and prevents the possibility of snow getting in your boots. Maybe they're just lazy :|
